Re: 6 Nations 2024

A lot of people giving out about Harry Bryne's inclusion but what is the standard of other nations' fourth choice 10? I'm not sure what people are expecting in that regard, quality 10s are very hard to come by.

I think we're witnessing the emergence of a new European giant. Bordeaux will be an incrediblely difficult place to go and win.

It’s very quiet on here when nobody has anything to complain about  there's no contest out there LL. It's like a training run against the thirds or "espoirs" in pink bibs. feel sorry for those who paid full whack for tix. an evening game, especially with kids in tow, is not cheap. ul...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Was surprised that Munster were seen as major underdogs once team announced. Bar a lock you were probably looking at the first choice 15 back - though bench weak obviously. Add in Toulon not stepping up and it’s a handy enough win. That was pretty close to a full Munster side alright so Donnacha’s ...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24

Think Coombes has carried well, but once again another brain dead play. That was a guaranteed try if he just simply let the ball come out the back of the ruck.

I'd ignore twitter. It's not just Twitter, it's on every forum, newspaper comments section, their media, their boardrooms. From top to bottom. Tbf I haven't seen much of it on the Scarlets forum (though haven't been on there in a while now) . They're just very dedicated to their team playing well, ...

Re: Leinster V Stade Francais, Dublin | Sat, 13 Jan 2024, 17:30

Still can’t agree this is our “biggest game of the season” because of the side SF are sending over. Biggest game so far for me was 100% La Rochelle, and likely the next biggest game will be whenever we meet them again. Unfortunately most of our big games this season have been played in monsoons or ...

The Munster derbies are really a separate one off tournament. Not much outside of the bragging rights. Sure it felt good. We can mutually rest players and the IRFU will be cool about it. This is the big game in front of our fans. Investec Cup is diminished, but the 2 games are still bigger than URC...

Re: Champions cup draw …..

How many players are allowed be named in European squads now? Infinity. Munster named pretty much the entire academy and sub academy in their squad. You are limited with additions during the seasons but not an initial squad. Well there's a simple fix right there. Though I'm sure that won't happen a...

We used to have dead rubbers in the good old heino cup days of the pools but nothing like this. Stade sending t...

Very strong side. Harry is likely injured given the 10/22 selection. Given the Carbery news this week, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a play to show the 10s below Ross & Harry that there's game time to be had at Leinster at the very top level. We knew they were sending the espoirs, the team wa...

Challenge cup news: The game between the Cheetahs and Pau is being played in front of a sell out crowd in Amsterdam. The stadium holds 5k but it sold out well in advance, great to see. Rugby in the Netherlands has been growing rapidly in the last fews years, there are numerous young Dutch players in...

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

Hey- it’s totally different discussion (not an argument) as to the ineffectiveness/ disinterest of Munster in developing out halves- or the chances of Frawley displacing Crowley in the team. Munster have been very poor at raising new 10s and optimising those they buy in: that’s a given. My focused ...

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

No- I just don’t buy that argument at all. Crowley’s playing future will depend on his success in leading Munster- not some construct of what Munster fans might ideally want to see happen in terms of tradition or the Ireland team. If Frawley goes south and gets a fair shake at playing 10 (and that’...

Zero chance Prendergast leaves at this stage of his career imo. There's no way he's unhappy with the way his development is going currently.

Munster have gone from an abundance of FHs to just one in a very short amount of time. Our ability to keep squad players happy is truly underrated.

Fair! Haha. If you had to concede one or two to munster, either for the player or the good or Ireland (or min impact on Leinster) who would it be? Tector and a Byrne for me. Re: Irish U20s 2024

Anyone got good knowledge on the physical profile of our potential starting pack this year? Can't comment on backrow but a front 5 of Usanov, Smyth, Sparrow, O'Connell, Spicer would be a pretty big u20s tight 5 I would have thought. Problem is its hard to compare to England/France/Italy as I've see...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Irish Mirror have a fairly unusual story today saying Rhys Ruddock is looking for a call up to Wales, as he’s eligible for them this year. Would be unusual if they were to cap him at 33, but the story has quotes from Mike Ruddock so there’s something there. Presume he would move to one of the Welsh...
