Re: A whiff of Cordite
OTB this morning 23 min piece. First 8 mins Munster. Next 5 on how shite Ulster are. Then patronising pats on the head for Connacht 3 mins. Quinlan, in fairness, praises Leinster for 3 but then they start questioning Max staying for 2 mins and just over a minute on AIL final. I know, I know its my ...

Re: Leinster v Munster URC Semi Final Aviva Stadium Sat 13th 5.30pm
Cullen has planned and prepared this season unbelievably well. I'm sure Leinster are exactly where want to be but you can't control that. Unbeaten all season in the league until the final round, home advantage in all the kncok out games they'll play. It is ludicrously good preparation and obviously ...

Re: Quarter Final vs Sharks, Sat 6th May 17:00 (RTE 2)
Even by URC standards, this is the worst highlights package I've ever seen. https://youtu.be/mWFOss9F7t4 How on earth do you expect to grow the brand and sell it to new fans when you can't even get the tries in chronological order? This is a recurring issue with professional rugby in Europe. The HCC...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
It is sad to some clubs going to the wall but the rugby calendar is full of games that make no money and don't interest the wider public. I don't know how rugby solves this issue but more cross hemisphere travel shouldn't be the solution. Flying regularly to the UK, Italy and once a year to SA to pl...

Re: Leinster V Toulouse Semi Final
Toulouse are favorites to win this now. I don't know what the bookies are saying but Leinster without
Sexton
Henshaw
Lowe
Is absolutely massive. Losing Sexton made it a 50/50 game, Henshaw out with Lowe and Sexton is a disaster.

Re: Leinster V Toulouse Semi Final
Sexton's absence is enormous. Before injury I'd give Leinster a 7-10 point head start. Now it is as close to a 50/50 as you can get. Hoping home advantage swings it because I think Toulouse would beat us in France. Winning this without Johnny would make it one of - if not the - greatest results they...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
He's not everyone's favorite ref but Frank Murphy was on the Big Jim Show. https://youtu.be/tdbeofd0WQo If he's a biased or useless as many believe he is, I doubt he'd still be in a job. Murphy must be scoring highly in the reviews. It seems like a lot of the referee's work is.. 1. Reviewing a game ...

Re: Leinster V Toulouse Semi Final
I think Cullen is overplaying this dramatically. We saw a bit of this last season after the Montpellier fiasco. Carrying a grievance through to the end of the season and last year it didn't help Leinster at all, losing one final and a semi at home. This noise has always been there. People are always...

Exeter have recorded 1 win all season on the road in the Gallagher. Can't see them winning the European Cup. They're not very good.

Re: Bulls result - best thing that could’ve happened.
I definitely can't see how this is the "best thing" that ever happened. A team representative Leinster lost by a record score. I'm not gonna sh!t on the players or management but it's still a terrible result. If we fall at the next hurdle in URC and/or HCUP, this result will be revisited. ...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Leinster rugby’s head coach is under severe pressure to win against the swashbuckling Toulouse in the Champions Cup semi-final, or be accused of underperforming. A further complication for Cullen is that, unlike O’Gara, he is measured by exalted standards. Success begets expectations, and this year...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Andy Dunne is a fine pundit but I'd like to him used without Gerry Thornley. The "dream team" stuff is nauseating as Cool Uncle Gerry forms part of that duo.
I enjoy listening to D'arcy. He seems a bit awkward though.

Re: A whiff of Cordite
James Tracey is a really good pundit. I know a few others have said this before. He seems like a very humble guy, no ego whatsoever. Incredible for a player at the highest level of his sport. Good knowledge of the game especially his position. I don't know if he's a big enough name to have on more o...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
To several people around here, you can't criticize Jackman because he played for Leinster, don't you remember? I remember his early days doing punditry and he would go out of his way to wind up Munster. I'm convinced he saw the backlash and was only interested to developing his reputation further, s...

Re: Neutral Stadium
I can understand playing semi finals at neutral grounds, but the argument for having a Plan B stadium for the final to be used at short notice, as championed by Joe Molloy, is utterly ridiculous. RoC, who is used to extreme hyperbole, was absolutely right when pointing out that Irish fans shouldn't ...
