Re: Who is next at Scrumhalf?
Equally, every other province has managed to either produce their own, or repurpose one of ours into a quality scrum half. There will have to come a time where we actually produce quality in this position. I think we have the next quality 9 within our ranks, let’s just hope we give them enough room ...

Re: Who is next at Scrumhalf?
I think we have enough of a runway on JGP and Luke to give the likes of Foley, Murphy and Gunne a chance to step up. Have no idea who’s likely to make the grade at the moment tbh.

Re: Tighthead Prop going forward
Are we assuming this is Healy's last season? He seems solid enough on the tight head side, maybe bulking up a little and moving over would give him an extra year? I think we need the depth as Furlong never plays and the sentiment isn't exactly overwhelmingly positive for the other options at the mom...

Re: Leinster Squad 22-23
Think Max O’Reilly will be on the keep list. He has had some good games and we aren’t over stocked with back three players, though his minutes have dried up alright. Can’t remember if he has been injured at all.

Hasn’t that planning decision expired? I thought part of it was that we would have to go again with the planning applicationhugonaut wrote:They are going to build what they have planning permission for ,i.e. the works described below:

Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
I missed the last 10 minutes. Was Harry injured? Didn’t seem to be in any pain in the post match scenes Presumably, confused HB for SP. SP looked crocked. Yeah, meant Harry. He did something to his leg in the last two minutes and was struggling to stand, could barely kick it out at the end, but as ...

Strongly disagree with that call, clearly backwards from Penny. Does being on the floor make a difference there though?

Re: RDS redevelopment
The only mistake Munster made was putting the stadium in Limerick. Objectively, it’s a class stadium, I’d love if Leinster had something similar.

Re: RDS redevelopment
Honestly I think this whole redevelopment is Leinster's largest fail in the past decade. If you look at what both Munster and Ulster got for €40 million and €20 million respectively, versus what we're likely going to end up with for probably the cost of both the other provinces combined, it's poor. ...

Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
I don't see why going unbeaten will be an issue. Is not that it's an issue really, it's just that it's not required. Sure it could happen, and of course all the lads fielded in the remaining games only have winning on their mind, but it's a big ask, especially against a strong Bulls side in South A...

That’s not the goal — just be first. We will definitely lose at least one game in South Africa.the-goon2 wrote:We have a perfect season to defend too.

Expected that the grandstand wouldn’t be touched, but it’ll be shocking if the north and south stands don’t get cover for that amount of money.

Re: Leinster Squad 22-23
I presume Serb is doing a wind up with the last bit. I was just rehashing some rumours I had heard elsewhere which obviously proved to be wrong, wasn't attempting to wind anyone up (though O'Mahony dropping out of the 15 was at least true). I think O'Mahony is to Leinster fans is what Heaslip was t...

James Ryan to captain Ireland on Saturday. Ross Byrne rumoured to be starting with Scott Penny immediately making the bench. Implies that O’Mahony is being held back also.

Re: Leinster Academy 22-23
Disappointed if true about Soroka. It's inevitable that multiple back row players will be moved on in the next season or two, I thought Soroka might stick around as the competition there is a lot more surmountable relative to open side. You've got Ruddock (32), Baird (23) and Moloney (23) ahead of you really. Doris is slotted in there at times to accomodate Conan, but long term, he's an 8 for me.
Soroka only just turned 21, Ruddock might have one or two seasons in him, he could easily get ahead of Moloney, he could find himself second in line at 22/23.
This is intangible and possibly b*%&!cks, but what really sticks out about Soroka for me beyond his ability is he seems like he has high potential as a leader and standards setter on the pitch. I think at times Leinster have lacked that. We need someone to step up and deliver a bollocking to the team when they need it (e.g. Sexton at half time in 2012 vs Northampton). He seems like he could be that guy. The only other young player who seems to have that air about them is Sam Prendergast for me.

Random question, but would Jason Jenkins become Irish qualified by the time he turns 30 having completed 5 years residence, assuming he also makes no appearances for South Africa in that period?

Had a feeling Boyle would be involved alright. Really like the team and great to see Jenkins involved.
