I think Jager is probably more powerful than TOT and has certainly shown more form than him over the last few months. So it's not leapfrogging TOT that I'd have an issue with, it's jumping over Bealham.
But would assume Faz has had this conversation with Finlay and he'll be back in for England.

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb
I find the Jager pick a bit weird myself as well I must say. He's been solid, but nothing amazing in the games I've seen from him. Parachuting him in ahead of Bealham and TOT is a big call from Faz, but he has gotten almost all of his big calls right over last few years. Clearly he must be pulling u...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb
I'd say this is Sarecans gig so if they don't want to stream it that's there call and there's probably not a lot Leinster can do about it. I think we all know if it was in Dublin Leinster probably wouldn't be streaming it either but I think we can give them the benefit of the doubt in this instance...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb
There's no demand for it. No, a couple of anoraks on here doesn't really constitute demand Not correct. Have a look at the Munster v Quins stream tomorrow night and see how many viewers it gets. Likely it'll be 5k+. There were 7k watchers at one stage of the Munster v Leinster pre-season game this ...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb
Jager is an interesting call. Is Bealham injured? Not injured from what I'm reading, but possibly the fact his wife just had a baby a couple of weeks ago is a factor here? I don't like the bench split - not generally a fan of 6-2 anyway, but definitely not without having a very versatile back on th...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
For their absolutely crucial friendly against Harlequins, Munster have selected some fresh blood at tight head. John Ryan starts, Stephen Archer on the bench. Jaysis. Wept. Could have tolerated one of them playing with Clarke Buckley for experience but ffs not both Who is available to play TH at th...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
On the surface this is a bit odd. I think that's fair enough for POM as Ireland skipper. Don't know what happened behind the scenes with the negotiations but the optics from outside looked awful with the Ireland captain starting a campaign without a signed deal. Our skipper should always have a dea...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
Initially, it seemed that Munster might not offer the experienced duo provincial contracts but The 42 understands that the picture has now changed, with O’Mahony and Murray both offered Munster deals topped up by the IRFU. It is believed that the contract offers will be co-funded by the IRFU, even ...

I’d watch both. I’d also like the option of watching the Leinster game back.Dave Cahill wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2024, 12:41 pm Would people watch this over the u20s 6 Nations game?

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Spicer has been ok in first two games, but probably in the bottom third of players overall.
Corrigan has had really good impacts and they want to get Edogbo in so it's a fair call really.

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb
Aitzol King getting his first start is good to see. Luke Kritzinger & Ruben Moloney are other names that stand out there. Both first year U20 right? Pretty big vote of confidence to be named in a squad like this. I wonder are they being looked at for Ireland U20 inclusion. Mangan at 8 is an inte...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb
Can only speak for myself, but I'd imagine a lot of others on here are the same - I'd love to see a stream of this game and would probably pay a fiver to do so. No idea what the issue is with being annoyed that a high profile friendly isn't at least being streamed. Looking at the teams, there's lots...

Thornley's predicted team: IRELAND (possible v Wales): Ciarán Frawley (Leinster); Calvin Nash (Munster), Robbie Henshaw (Leinster), Bundee Aki (Connacht), James Lowe (Leinster); Jack Crowley (Munster), Jamison Gibson-Park (Leinster); Andrew Porter (Leinster), Dan Sheehan (Leinster), Tadhg Furlong (L...

If only there was an ex provincial coach with experience of turning around a province through judicious use of the stick who left on good terms and is currently available. Cheiks would absolute kick the bollix out of some of that Ulster side, which is what many of them need. https://images.ps-aws.co...

Re: Ulster 2023/24
Jeez that's heavy stuff from Fanj but all warranted. The way McFarland has conducted himself reflects pretty badly on him. He comes across as pessimistic, dour and absorbing himself of responsibility at times. Perhaps he's not that way with players, but he certainly has come across like that in the ...

Jeez that is a weak looking Welsh team.
Lots of areas we can target there.
Reffell and the wingers are probably their biggest threat
