Re: RWC 2019 Warmup Games
While yesterday was extremely worrying, any rugby player will tell you at this time off year you can run into a team that are just that bit further on in their preparations and are more match hardened than you are and you can get beat out the gate. This doesn't necessarily mean you are in a bad posi...

Re: Italy v Ireland Sun 24/02/19 3pm
Spot on on leavy, he is a hybrid of van der flier and SOB. Excellent ball carrier like SOB but with better footwork, fast to the breakdown like josh and a turnover machine. We really miss him. Could we be trying something different with conditioning at the moment, we look flat almost a yard off the ...

Awful performance lucky to get away with it.
Earl's isn't a centre, poor defensively, some nice breaks though.
What about trying Stockdale at full back

That's about 150k a game per season. Seems a crazy signing for LI but good luck to SOB he owes Irish rugby nothing.Peg Leg wrote:At that price I'd say he negotiated in personcormac wrote:£450k a year. He must have some agent.

Re: Leinster v Ulster
That was a shocking Ulster team. Worst I've ever seen them send to play us so hard to judge how good people played. The pick of our players were penny and obrien. Two observations/concerns for me. (1) Frawley plays very far behind the gainline which makes it difficult for the rest of the backline. (...

Re: All Ireland League - Thread
All Ireland League Final and the IRFU allow yet another total anomaly when the only full-time professional player wins the man-of -the-match award against the amateurs. No fault of Peter Dooley but this makes a nonsense of the IRFU regulation bannings payments to players (Regulation 6). Club compet...

Re: Leinster's Halfback Options going forward
Munster don't develop anything. We're still waiting for a Munster developed player to become a regular in Irish match day squads. POM, in 2012, is the last. To think Carbery is blocking 2 is fantasy stuff. As a fan, you'd think they'd be used to seeing players developed elsewhere (SA, Leinster, Ulst...

Re: Ulster 2018-2019
Must be some amount of new signings coming in given the amount of players leaving. Other than jordi and Marty Moore who's coming into the pack. Mcphillips looks like he could be a fine player given time. O'Toole too. A back line of 15 ludik 14 gilroy 13 Marshall 12 mcloskey 11 Stockdale 10 mcphillip...

Ulster doing well.
Ospreys look clueless. Big question marks over their coaching ticket.

Re: Ireland's Next Captain
No problem with POM as a captain and like him as a player. I just think he'll be doing very well to hold onto his place til the world cup(SOB, Leavy, Stander, Conan, Ruddock, van der flier etc putting serious pressure on) and it is very doubtful he will be in the Ireland team for many more years aft...

Re: Summer tour to Australia
We need to bring most but not all of our first team if we're to ensure that they do the same in November. They need to sell tickets in June and want meaningful competition, we want to sell tickets in November In fairness I'd say Ireland is the easiest touring team for the Australians to sell out st...

Re: Ulster 2017 - 2018
It seems Gibbes has good family reasons to return to NZ. I think he may have gone earlier but for the departure of Kiss. Since Kiss has gone he seems to have got the team moving in the right direction and the off the pitch distractions have begun to fade away. Personally I am sorry to see him go as...

Re: Summer tour to Australia
Has to be Cronin Best plus 1 other. I think scannell is a pretty good player even though he was poor in the semi final. Someone like delahunt or Rhys Marshall(not sure when he's eligible) may be worth looking at as very dynamic players might really add something to the squad. Don't rate Tracey or he...

Mcfarland Looks a very good appointment. Should play some good attacking rugby, last 3 teams he's been with play a great style and have over performed given the ability they had.
