Re: Schools Cups 2014

Was at the Blackrock v CBC match today. The Blackrock pack is monstrous. Interesting to see Matt O'Connor taking in the game too. They are huge. 1 4th year, 1 5th year and 6 6th years. Timoney played at 7 after being an 8 last year, it's probably his future position if he wants to make it professio...

Re: Leinster vs Zebre - Sunday 9th Feb 16.30

would be fairly disappointed if Ryan can't get a start at this stage.
Really want to see Marshall get a run out too.
Conan possibly off the bench?

Any word on Goodman?
Probably on his way, would be a good signing for Connacht.

Re: Rumour Mill

Leo Auva'a on his way to Newcastle Falcons, according to whispers.. Would be a good move for him if true. Would've expected him to move to the championship but Newcastle look likely to stay up Good move for everyone there. I could never really understand why some Leinster fans gave him such a hard ...

Re: Munster 2013/2014

Barry O'Mahony and Niall Ronan won't be around next year or at least thats what i've heard.

O'Mahony more likely to stay but Munster are very high on Ryan Murphy at 7 and he is ready for much more A time which he won't get with either still signed up with Munster.

Re: Munster 2013/2014

stander will be 24 by the end of the season and he is at best a fringe squad member... Copeland arrives and he will be even further from a starting spot. Paddy Butler who is only 23, has more minutes in the Heineken this season even though he missed 10 weeks with injury. Stander looks great with bal...

Re: Ireland vs Munster

To make a correction of my above post, I forgot Ryan for Munster and Bowe for Ulster, apologies. As for Munster being top of the league, we must remember Leinster have already played in Thomond, Munster are yet to visit Lansdowne. If as a point of balance we were to assume a home Leinster win, Lein...

Re: Ireland vs Munster

Munster should have 8 in the squad if everyone is healthy with an argument to be made about Kilcoyne. I'm not arguing for more. I'm not saying any of the forwards not in the squad should be, i'm stating that the Munster Academy is clearly producing forwards. All they can do is beat who they have in...

Re: Ireland u20 2013/14

Most noticeable one is two lads from Birr, one went to a rugby school and the other came through the clubs.

Obviously Michael's success at producing rugby players is noticeable.

Re: Ireland vs Munster

You are discounting Munster's success, they have a raft of young Irish forwards who are performing well. More than Ulster in fact, while Ulster have a raft of young Irish backs performing well.

Re: Schools Cups 2014

Belvo have some pretty talented players in their squad but they are young.. a year too soon perhaps. Clongowes backline is talented but not sure it's pack can handle either Michael's or Blackrock. Newbridge are an older squad and have enough to compete and possibly beat any side they face. Could eas...

France's locks for England game:
A Flanquart: 6'8 117kg
P Pape: 6'5 118kg
Y Maestri: 6'7 121kg

Nearly every top side features locks that are 6'5 if not taller.

On other news that is a tall 10-14:

Byrne: 6'3
Fitzpatrick: 6'
Robb: 6'3
Ringrose: 6'1
Byrne: 6'3

Re: Ireland vs Munster

Sherry would be included in the list. Although he is only an international hooker in the sense that has one cap for Ireland. Dave O'Callgahan(24) is another talented forward but his progress this year has been limited Most of those players aren't 1st choice internationals but they are plenty talente...

Not sure where you got those names from johng but Murphy is pretty much correct Murphy would be a smart move but is there any chance of Paddy McAlister getting back at all? Another season seems to be passing him by. Has he even played for the Ravens this season? He played and tore his hamstring.. H...

Re: Ireland vs Munster

Munster have developed plenty of forwards over the last few years. Kilcoyne(24), Cronin(23), Casey(23), Archer(26), Foley(26), POM(24), TOD(26), Butler(23) all featured from the Edinburgh game recently are all young and new enough on the scene. Combined with the experience of POC(34), DOC(35), Cough...

Re: Ireland vs Munster

Munster do an excellent job at producing forwards.
Don't agree IRFU intervention is propping them up.
