Re: A whiff of Cordite

To play devil's advocate, are we happy to keep guys in the squad who are happy to be third and fourth fiddle despite being good enough to be lead violin? Is that lack of personal and professional ambition a good thing? Is someone willing to play that role not someone we should really be moving on? ...

Re: 6N: Ireland Italy - Dublin 3pm Sun 11 Feb 2024

Bit surprised that Porter winning a few scrum penos hasn't been a talking point? Don't think he changed too much about what he was doing at scrum time, and I know the Italian pack aren't as feared as they once were, but it's good to see his name isn't completely sullied, I wonder if back channel wor...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Enjoyed ATH on RTE tonight. Think Donal Lenihan is really good and speaks a lot of sense. Jackman and Fiona Coughlan good too, despite all the bad press poor ole Bernard gets here, from me included. The problem with ATH is there is one Cork man too many and its not Donal Lenihan. I can't abide that...

Re: 6N: Ireland Italy - Dublin 3pm Sun 11 Feb 2024

Wouldn't rotate much here, Italy are looking good and we have a couple of off weeks until the next one.
Possibly just change the bench to 5-3.

Any word on injuries sustained?

Re: 6 Nations 2024

I sure as hell hope that 'Big Joe' is heavier than the meagre 112kg that Gery Thornley is slavishly reporting as his weight last night and today. I appreciate thjat is what the IRFU have on their site but if they are to be believed then Tadhg Beirne (113) is heavier than James Ryan (107) and so too...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Warning: I'm going to be really cranky below... Turned on the TV this evening and there was ROG on the screen blabbing about Crowley or something. Turned it off, had a look at my phone and there was 2 items in my feed "0'Gara says... Blah blah". Just looked at my tab, 2 more items with &q...

Re: 6 Nations 2024

GT has released his expected team. He has Ringrose missing out through a shoulder injury, and Joe Mc starting ahead of James Ryan. He also has us going with a 6-2 split: Keenan, Nash, Henshaw, Aki, Lowe, Crowley, Gibson Park, Porter, Sheehan, Furlong, Beirne, McCarthy, O’Mahony, Van der Flier, Dori...

I enjoyed it for what it was. A slow starter but some interesting insights. One of which is that Gregor Townsend is a tool. Why would you announce your team with an animated slideshow. If I was a player I'd f%~k off. sh!t management. I've a few other 'issues' which I might vent later. Thank goodnes...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

I don't know if this is due to the dearth of quality Irish rugby podcasts (Demented mole not included of course!) but the Left Wing is not a bad listen this week. I think Jonathan Bradley always adds to the proceedings. Luke also not afraid to speak his mind and shut Slattery down when he feigns to ...

He was the recipient of some late-ish hits, there was one hit that he absolutely tanked and the Leicester player actually came off worse for wear. Good to see

Re: Leicester v Leinster Sat 20th 3.15 TNT Sports

Just on the rewatch there, and the first 10 mins were as intense as many a test match. Lowe is just a joy to watch and in my eyes the standard bearer for Leinster. When he clicks everyone else seems to raise their games just that little bit more. The breakdown reminded of that band name "Fight ...
