Re: Rumour Mill
Heaslip will milk it like Gaylord Focker and then he'll stay. He's dead right and worth every penny! Magnificent player. In terms of value for money, he's simply phenomenal. He made 30 starts for Ireland and Leinster last season [16 tests, 14 club games], and went the full 80 mins in 26 of them. 10...

Re: Leinster vs Castres Sat Oct 15th @ 15:15
I thought you could keep the ball in a scrum as long as you want? this has happened a few times now. You can't anymlonger, when the ball has been held at the number 8s feet in a scrum that has been stationary for 3-5 seconds, the ref will call use it - since the 1st of July. Another is that you can...

Re: Leinster v Munster Saturday 2.05 Sky/TG4
Apparently ticket sales aren't great. Wonder if it's because of the early kick off? I've been looking forward to it for ages and know a few people on here have said the same thing so would have thought there was a buzz about it. About 35K sold up to last week I believe but such an early KO on a Sat...

Re: Academy 2016/2017
Players over 20 included and not in academy: Vakh Abdaladze (Clontarf FC) Ruairí O'Farrell (Lansdowne FC) O'Farrell is a notable addition, has a lot of talent but lost his way a few years ago. Wouldn't surprise me to see Vakh to have been added to the academy given his preseason. I think both were ...

A salute to Robbie Keane on his retirement from International football. 68 goals says it all really. Thank you Robbie. :happy clapper: :happy clapper: :happy clapper: is good old Frank Stapelton still second on 21 or something like that?? I remember when they said that would be very hard to break w...

Re: Friendly v Bath in Donnybrook
Don't agree with you Armchair on Ross Byrne forcing things. You must mean the attempted cross fielder which was a 50/50 and to be expected from an attacking 10. What about his two excellent and very precise tactical punts on the run into the right hand corner stopping short of the try line and crea...

Re: Friendly v Bath in Donnybrook
Lots of positives - Carberry, Byrne on the wing, Church, Leavy all looked good and really like the pass on the new Scrummie! The lineout was an absolute mess though and will need to be fixed sharpish (though in fairness, Bath are probably as good a test as you'll get in that area). Fantastic to be ...

Re: Friendly v Bath in Donnybrook
Carberry is ready better than Marsh and Byrne just had that X factor. If he was Welsh he would be called into national squad. Scrum and Lineout were very poor looked very impressive for about 20 minutes in first half with best team out. Good outing valuable for coaches to see who is and isn't up to ...

Lost their backs coach and Dan McParland who played a big role too It's McFarland not McParland and they lost him the year before they won the league. No idea what to make of Aki's interview's but they will be some serious kick-up if he leave's I think. A lot of people in Galway believe this is all...

Was hoping that the defensive midfielder might be Can but I'm beginning to wonder if Herr Klopp likes having one? Henderson doesn't fit the bill anyway. Yeah Can looked decent towards the end of the last season in that role not sure why Klopp isn't starting him, totally agree re Henderson very aver...

First game in and already a contender for match of the season. You would have to worry about our defence but the front four looked very potent. Game of 2 halves as they say, 1st half we were very poor and 2nd best by a long way, need better options than Moreno a quality left back is badly needed, d...

Question: That big black lad who played lock on one of the smaller school teams and is also a shot putter. Can't think of his name and I'm too lazy to go back and root around trying to find him. Classic head in the sand stuff. Many more players will be abroad in future years. It's the way things are going. Not only is it not head in the sand stuff, it is acknowledging exactly what you are saying and trying to be proactive in disincentivising players moving abroad and to remain here both fo...
