Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
I was as annoyed as the next person with regard to French chicanery and the craven deceit of wales and Scotland, but this discussion needs a reality check wrt to what an Irish RWC would have looked like this autumn ...... No hotel rooms because the government have sequestered them all for Ukrainian...

This is exactly what I thought, it seemed to me he led with his shoulder.the spoofer wrote: ↑September 15th, 2023, 7:25 am The real question is did he make an effort to tackle legally and I don’t think he did. Arm tucked, shoulder to head.

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Louise Galvin, who has played for Ireland at 7s, 15s and at basketball AND played halfback for Kerry, is a BRILLIANT analyst. If you want a smart, insightful Munsterwoman with a test and elite sport perspective, it's not like Hayes is the best you can do. There are great alternatives. Agree 100%

Re: RWC: Ireland v Romania Virgin Media One Sat 9 September 2:30pm
by Ruckedtobits Ireland scored well on Saturday, but many aspects need improvement, not least the lineout and our maul. Overall the backline played well but there were distinct flaws, not least with Ringrose and his lines of running. We offered minimal threat down the right wing, more, but not perf...

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
Henderson played himself off the plane. I know, it won't happen, but he was very very poor.

Re: RWC 2023: The Other Teams
No idea what Barrett was doing clearing out like that, a yc all day. Really stupid when already on a yellow.
Yes on our day we could beat both these teams but those two SA packs are ridiculous it's a serious challenge.

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
I thought POM's delivery to Aki for the first try was a bit forward - i.e. he threw it slightly forward - but they never call those short ones anyway.
I noticed Sheehan injured himself volleying the ball downfield from a loose English line out, it looked incredibly innocuous.

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
In Cahill's early days I quite liked his style, even when it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. But he's just become a self-entitled, smug tosser over time. He's running with this faux-outrage playbook more and more, with nobody in production or co-comms seemimgly willing to pull him.up. As I re...

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
At one point Lenihan and Cahill mentioned a 'second string' SA team murdering Wales and how impressive this was. Of course, it was largely a first string SA team and a second string Wales outfit. To be fair to Lenihan he's very even-handed in his commentary and is extremely knowledgeable. Cahill, ap...

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
POM looked like he was running in lead boots whenever I saw him ..... meanwhile prendergast shook off a couple of early lost balls, to be Irelands best forward of the game Prendergast did fine, better than I expected, but he wasn't that great. Ryan and vdF were both comfortably better than him, it'...
