Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
LeRoux find it hard to quantify Ulster's regular 13 Darren Cave as being slight. Whilst I agree that neither Wallace or Jackson are exactly giants but both are very solid in their defence. I find the whole media hassle over Gilroy amusing. Any regular Ulster Fan has known his qualities since his deb...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
The Ulster situation is slightly different to Leinster in that if we play at Ravenhill 100% of the revenue comes into the coffers of he Ulster Branch, we are not tenants of the RDS, therefore any decision to move the match would have to be financially advantage after the rental etc to Casement Park ...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
The plan for redevelopment shud assure if it all works according to plan that Ravenhill will not drop below the existing capacity during the construction. The two totally new Stands with their terraces shud be ready by next August. then the extra capacity will come with new replacement stand and new...

Re: Ireland v Fiji
Broken Wing the answer is Yes unfortunately, used to look forward to going to Lansdowne but the combination of several trips to the deadly tomb of Crope Park combined by the scintillating game plans from Kidney and the IRFU pricing policy, not to mention the need foran oxygen mask in theSouth Stand ...

Re: Ireland v Fiji
Lummix can't see the plot being to play 10 man rugby, you obviously have no concept of the make up of the backline. Certainly the four Ulster players will want to run with the Ball and attack outwide or through the centre, Yes there are a lot of new faces but DK has gone for a unit in the backline an...

Re: Ireland v Fiji
As an Ulster Season ticket holder I can understand the comment re Marshall. However I think that you need to keep this in proportion. Yes Marshall is prone to making the odd poor decision as it seems are the two incumbents. Also he is being judged by someone who is watching the World class Ruane eac...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
I think a large part of his reluctance to commit on the Glasgow game could have been down to the horrendous injury that virtually cost him a full season bar approx 90 mins rugby last year. The experience was very fresh in his mind and this was just after his arrival in Belfast with no knowledge of t...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
Jarred is the hidden gem for Ulster. Like Ruane he glides across the field so casually but effectively. His defence is very strong and he not only sores tries but selflessly sets them up for all around him. Ulster can be pleased with to nite as the 2nd XV after a shaky start came good and produced a...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
You can also add the names of Doyle our back row signing from Australia who is Irish qualified and Henderson from the Irish U20's. there is certainly depth in the back row with a number able to cover the locks as well. With with Mueller,Touhey and Stevenson as the three principle locks Ulster are we...

Re: Munster Thread 2012-2013
From what I saw of O'Dea I thought he as a much more complete player than Zebo.
Zebo seems to be all flash and no substance.

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
Ulster and Pedrie W would both have been happy to continue there previous contract but that was kicked into touch fairly late on by IRFU and by hat time their was little left on offer hence the decision to go for Nick. Nick also had previous with Mark Anscombe and so far he is getting he best out of...

Re: Scarlets v Leinster
As a neutral I must agree that whilst Carr like Zebo OSA speed merchant I thought that his all round game was disappointing, the phrase one trickony comes to mind with regard to both of them.

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
Marshall is recovering from surgery hence his place on the bench,he has missed all the Pre-season games and Heaney has played quite well, whilst maybe not a star has proved to be very adequate. Expect Wee Paul to be released from the bench to get some game time. He is probably at his best coming on ...

Re: Foster Horan
jezzer how could any one forget Wee Christ Farrell who has the build of a young Shane Horgan. However I sympathise it is sad to see young plays going overseas especially to the Plastic Pasdy's but there is only a limited financial pot and something has to give. Far better that they goes to a champio...

Re: Welsh double header
Ronk can't see Ulster using it during their refurbishment other than for a HEC Home Q/F as the current plans envisage playing and building side by side as per the current New Stand and Terrace. They are also very conscious of the home crowd factor at Ravenhill and keen to exploit it at every opportu...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
Sorry I took you up wrong . For the record I know that Ruane gets all the publicity, but Johan Mueller and Big John Afoa have both been terrific signings and are really top guys off the field too. having said that we have promising crop of young forwards coming through just look at the starting team...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
Leprous if you had the choice of Afoa orDeclan who would you start with? It's not as if Leinster have a record of going with local players rather than overseas players. BradThorne v DevonToner. Record anyway Decaan only played about 30 minutes anyway. Black, Macklin and Lutton allgot a run out. Cole...

Re: This summer's pre-season friendlies
Similar set up with Ulster with only Mueller starting in the pack and Big John coming on aft 14mins.
Thankfully the Kids stood up and were counted to get a draw 14 all with very much frontline Leicester side.
