Re: Ulster 2015/16
As I have said before it's great to see the interest in Leinster in redividing up the resources of both Connacht. And Ulster. However I seemed to have missed somewhere the proposals to redistribute all the products of the allegedly strongest provincial academy. What props or back row players which a...

Re: Wasps at Home
As an after thought you could consider sending young Ringrose north as you seem to be reluctant to use him just like Munster and JJ Hanrahan last season and we all saw the consequences of those decisions.

Re: Wasps at Home
To paraphrase Dave Cahill comments under the Ulster 15 /16 thread " can't see that side bothering the engravers this season " at least Ulster are taking steps already to strengthen our team with a new and experienced coach and from all accounts a more than competent Full back arriving with...

Re: Wolfhounds v Saxons
I personally feel there is a major selection error in the centre. There is only one person in Ireland that really believes Earls is a13 and he is playing in that position for the wolfhounds. He will not pass and link with other plyers a prerequisite for the positin If he has to play then I would swo...

Re: Welsh Regions leaving the Pro 12
I think Paadyor has hit the nail on the head when he says WRU is made up of clubs that see the Pro12 clubs as rivals. I have always thought how little the Welsh understand the set up with our provinces. They may call the sides regions but they have no real connections / roots within grass roots. The...

Re: Ulster 2014/15
All Ulster competive home matches are on TV.
if not on Sky then being shown on BBC NI they stuck with the Pro 12 unlike RTE.

Re: Ulster 2014/15
Donny B Ulster are not up the creek with out a paddle as everyone has been trying to suggest and which seems to be the general belief down Mexico Way. I would suggest that the Harshest scrutiny of the weekend will be taking place at Gloucester Or maybe even In Limerick after tonight . I particular l...

Re: PR threaten to play during World Cup
See Nigel Wray's comment it's a good job that The PRL have never entered into a binding contract without consulting the other parties.
I wonder has it dawned on him yet how ironic his comments are.

Re: Ulster Rugby 2013/2014
I wouldn't write off Ulster just yet, just cast your memory back to Munster vUlster where Ulster according to the Southern Press were just cannon fodder. Also financially Ulster with a new rent free 18k seater Stadium, with no landlord running the catering and drinks franchises, are in an ever stren...

Re: France v Ireland
Whether he finally finishes in the back row or second row Hendy is one hell of an option to have on the bench. He is known as the Manchild in Ulster and at 22 yrs he has it all in front of him. I thought he was a shade off the pace as a starter last week but coming on as a Sub he is some option and ...

Re: Ulster Rugby 2013/2014
The Ref was from the SRU so Leinster may well being having him someday soon. Personally I thought he was a big improvement on the average scots ref. Mr Patterson is of course also an SRU ref the fact that he had the good fortune to born an Ulsterman is totally irrelevant. I suspect that history is r...

Re: Ulster Rugby 2013/2014
Just because there is no water lying on a pitch does not make it playable, you also have to consider the long term picture. Playing on a waterlogged pitch may be possible but it will wreck it for the rest of the season, in other words the short tem gain would not be worth the long term cost. Any clu...

Re: Ireland v All Blacks
Now Looking forward to Ravenhill on Friday night after being filled with dread great decisions by Joe from an Ulster viewpoint but not impressed by the prospects for Sunday at the Aviva.
I presume it will be old same old selection.

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
Mrs Afoa is due to give birth to their third child in 7 or8 weeks so Big bad John has gone out to NZ. He will be missed but Ulster have more important matches in the offing and with a 12 points margin at the top of the Rabo and a HEC Q/F place secured they can afford to be generous to a player who h...

Re: Ulster Thread 2012-13
The redevelopment work has already commenced at Ravenhill, and be assured if at all possible all home draws will be played at Ravenhill. Whilst agreeing that Thomond wud be a neutral ground it is 4hrs from Belfast and 2 from Dublin. If league demanding that a bigger ground is used it may come down t...
