Re: URC 2023/24
At least one of the 4 SA franchises seems to be on the brink of bankruptcy at any one time anyway. If a new government comes in there seeking to make a point they could easily destroy rugby at either test or club level. Especially so far from a RWC (when they usually cop on about quotas and meddling).

Re: URC 2023/24
Capetown is amazing. Been there a few times. Durban and capetown are not an option together now. Unless they change it again. I don't think joburg or Pretoria are up to much but you could probably fit in a safari or something while there. Pretoria is nice in parts. Spent a couple of months there in...

Cutting cloth to suit measure isn't in the Munster lexicon.

So the disarray is a big bag of cash from hosting the biggest star in the world right now, and a big bag of cash from playing the World Champions in their first game in Europe since the world cup final? i don't know how they can sleep at night. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GFM_GzWXIAAgE1g?format=jpg...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24
All club, province and International weights will always be made up. There's no benefit for any player, coach or organisation for them to be accurate so they aren't. An intern likely spends an afternoon making up believable(ish) values, these are briefly looked over by someone above and then they're...

There's no guarantees he makes it. Caleb Clarke couldn't make the NZ sevens squad last Olympics for example. Caleb Clarke is a much different build of athlete though. Much stockier and carrying more muscle. 7s would seem to suit the more lithe Baloucoune a lot more. I'm not sure that's true looking...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Apparently there was an article in the Telegraph about the 6N's decision to scrap the away jersey protocol in an attempt to 'modernise' the tournament. I'm sorry but I'm a "tradition, neither make or break" kind of guy. https://static.thcdn.com/productimg/130/130/13975916-1675060786304381...

Baloucoune has opted for the Olympics. He should make the squad stronger but will Ulster miss him? There's no guarantees he makes it. Counter-rucking then spinning your lower body around the side of the ruck to get your legs/lower body in the way of the 9 while keeping the same bind has to stop. One where you feel they're finding the right law to reaffirm to combat it.

Re: Netflix 6 Nations 2023 series
There is no agreement yet for season 2, let alone season 3. Well, I hear you. But I also heard the producer speak on the programme on The Ruck podcast, and he was talking of the next series as a done deal. No such thing as a done deal with Netflix until the cheque clears! They have their own criter...

Jackman not advocating for sacking of McFarland (former teammate and seems like a mate the way he tiptoed around describing how well he knew him) but approves of firing his assistant coaches to shake things up. Proceeds to moralise a lot about IRFU treatment of POM.

Re: Rumour Mill
Ed Byrne is an incredibly underrated player, to my mind. Injury has really robbed him of a better career but he's extremely dependable and is technically very strong. He has been around forever but still only turned 30 this season so has 3-4 years of top level rugby in front of him which would prov...

He’s a pundit! What do you expect from him: club loyalty? I don’t expect anything. What I liked about him previously was that he had good analysis and wasn’t afraid of having an opinion. What I am starting to dislike about his punditry is the fact he now appears to just say whatever he thinks will ...

How’s Karl Martin getting on over in Montpellier? 3 senior caps. All before this season. Played 1 out of the 3 games this season for the U23 team that I've been able to find a teamsheet for. It's unfortunate going abroad there's less of a vested interest in your success (via union incentives).
