Mad to think that there is so much more Irish interest in tonight's European final which features just 1 Irish player then there was in Saturday's European final where an Irish team played a team captained by an Irish man.

Oh well, here's hoping Barca puts one over the corporation.

Try working for a company with a vested interest in it... it's 23:51, and I'm still here.......... :x

Delighted for Barcelona. But thank God the football season is over on Saturday! Getting tired of late nights.

Woz just thinking - Andy Gray was raving about how assured and confident the referee was last night, and how UEFA made "the right decision" to appoint him. But where is he from? Switzerland? Sky contacting themselves as usual. After the Chelsea game, the failure of Hiddink's men to qualify was purely down to the referee being from Norway, and his lack of experience in dealing with big games. The Swiss league is hardly more competitive than Norway's. Just goes to prove you don't need to be officiating at the top table to know what a hand ball is, or a penalty kick, or some jersey pulling.

Well done, Jamie and Andy!

Jamie Redknapp should not be held responsible for his own opinion. He's a plank!

Madrid need a result tonight. Can't see them going to Nou Camp needing to win and doing it.

From BBC "And now, according to Adrian Chiles, it appears as if Barca's substitute keeper Jose Pinto was red carded for his part in that melee. Blimey."

Dreadful stuff with the diving and constantly hassling the ref but Messi's second was sublime.

Can't see Real turning it around next week.

If Jose is looking for the utd job, he can expect an email from the glazers listing the Barca players they would like injured for the final!!

Pepe's studs-up "tackle" was potentially dangeous, but not actually dangerous as he didn't touch Pedro, who dived AGAIN to the deck. A yellow at worst.

I'm the antithesis of a Madrid fan, I find Mourinho funny and entertaining as a PR figure but a horrible coach and person. The Madrid tactics were understandable and proven to be successful against Barca, but still dreadful stuff. Real were totally calculating and cynical off the pitch as well as on it (Mourinho baiting Pep, Bernabeu refusing the longstanding custom of welcoming Barca fans in Catalan, etc etc)

All that said, Barca's successes are definitely tainted by cheating, diving and more than a hint of bias towards them by refs. I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow and won't get many sympathetic ears for that line from friends there, but Mourinho wasn't completely being a tw@t when he opined that Barca were good enough to win it without simulation and assistance.

As for Messi, we're running out of superlatives for the cheeky little fecker. The one guy, ironically, who tries to stay on his feet.
