Integrating football fans will this work

Integration The Aim
Mon 09 Nov 2009
Nottingham Forest will be joining forces with Doncaster Rovers later this month to launch a ground-breaking scheme designed to integrate opposition fans.

Supporters of both clubs will have the chance to buy attractively priced 'family tickets' for the 'T' Block section of the Brian Clough Stand for the game on November 28.

It's believed to be the first time such an initiative has been implemented in English football.

Students at South Notts College are sprucing up that particular area of The City Ground as a special project.

And there will be pre-match and half-time entertainment in that section of the stadium.

Forest Safety Office Alan Bexon said: "It's something we have been considering for some time and we have had talks with Doncaster about implementing it for our meeting later this month.

"We sincerely hope the idea will catch on and lead to us eventually getting back to a situation where there is no need to segregate fans.

"Football has evolved since the days when hooliganism was at a peak and we believe the initiative could be a step in a very positive direction."
