Re: HEC competitor watch
If Racing throw in the towel, this is, of course, a great thing for us.
Yes, Clermont could get a bonus point win, but it doesn't change anything we're going to do against Saracens, the only thing it changes is that they will more than likely play an understrength team against us as well, which is better than Racing playing their full strength in Clermont, winning, and then playing us for the group in Paris.
If anything, it just means we've the same chances of qualifying (as we still need to win v Saracens regardless) but it improves our chances of winning in Paris and thus gives us a better chance of a home quarter final.

It does, it'll mean we'll need to get a winning bonus point tomorrow ourselves to have definitely won the group. If they don't get a winning BP, then any sort of win tomorrow will do us to guarantee we win the group with a game to spare.[Jackass] wrote:

Re: HEC competitor watch
on Wednesday 26th after playing us the previous friday Racing go back down to play Clermont again, so they may be keeping all their power dry until then.ceemec wrote:Would think we'll see the likes of Nallet and Steyn back for our match but other players rested. Be surprised if they rested them for 2 weeks running. We could see players such as Fall and Cronje benched. Would rather Nallet and Steyn out to be honest if that comes to pass.

True, but we want to win both regardless, to get a home QF. So having a weak(er) Racing will suit us.Donny B. wrote:It does, it'll mean we'll need to get a winning bonus point tomorrow ourselves to have definitely won the group. I have a feeling that the won't be as week at home though
Re: HEC competitor watch
Oh of course, but it would still be nice to have the security of knowing we have the group won with a game to go.johng wrote:True, but we want to win both regardless, to get a home QF.
