QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
Surely there is no way we would be playing on Good Friday. One would like to think the title sponsor would have a say in the date.
Would make for a very quiet stadium and town that night

Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
I think Sky will give the prime early evening, Saturday slot to Munster vs. Ulster. Wouldn't be surprised if we got the afternoon Saturday game as a curtain raiser.
Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
They'll have to juggle availability at all the venues. The most difficult one may be if Sarries want to play in Wembley so they may get this sorted first, then schedule the rest around it.

Our southern cousins may get their usual dispensation, so they could play that night.

Can't see a QF in Dublin on Good Friday unless they change the licensing laws, IMO unlikely they would grant a dispensation to Dublin like they did for Limerick.

Big difference granting a dispensation to a city the size of Dublin compared to Limerick!
Embra on the Friday night.
Saracens at 3pm on Saturday or Sunday.
Munster prime time on Saturday and we get the slot Saracens don't take.
...to the sound of a Sivivatu slap!
Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
Don't know why people are so sure Munster will get the primetime slot. As it's an All Irish tie, Sky might think that the interest would be limited in Britain. Personally I think Sarries will get the 6pm Saturday slot. I hope we get the 3.30 Saturday slot, but Munster will probably get that and we'll be stuck on the Sunday.

Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
Thats good reasoning. Wouldnt disagree
Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
Sky have so many angles to sell it from. Old masters vs up and coming. Chip on shoulder for Ulster after being passed over for 6N selection. All Irish tie. The "Thomond" factor. Munster are what Sky built their HEC coverage on and I don't think that will change for this one. They had Munster as the prime time game in both their first and last games of the pool stage and have given them the prime slot for 4 of their last 5 quarter finals, I think. More neutrals and casual fans will tune in for it than any other game I reckon.Donny B. wrote:Don't know why people are so sure Munster will get the primetime slot.
Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
Fair enough, but this season they have preferred English clubs for the prime-time slots. Munster's only prime-timers were against Northampton. Our only one was against Bath. Sarries-Ospreys was another. Leicester-Ulster and Gloucester-Quins were the other Saturday 6PM kick-offs. Can you spot a pattern yet?ceemec wrote:Sky have so many angles to sell it from. The English clubs and some of their media lackeys (Stephen Jones) have been complaining for years about Munster and Leinster getting prime-time slots and this season Sky finally seem to have listened.

Re: QUARTER FINAL ON GOOD FRIDAY??
So we're expected to buy tickets from Wednesday for a match before we know when it is to know whether we can actually go? Interesting.
