Piutau is world class or close to it.

Yip but it was because Ludik was returning early from injury and also was needed to cover 12 to 15 due to lack of other options.neiliog93 wrote:Ludik was on the bench in the most recent team with Nelson starting.rooster wrote:Nelson is starting ahead of Ludik though because of injuryneiliog93 wrote:Piutau is so far ahead of Ludik though. Piutau is way ahead of Ludik, who is ahead of Nelson
Re: Rumour Mill
Well I certainly agree with your conclusion that Piutau is way ahead of Ludik.

42.ie reporting Munster are after Dippy as IRFU not letting them sign an NIQ 7 for next season

^^ Was also in the Indo the other day (I read it when it was there for free..). Could be a good move for all concerned. A player with high potential who hasn't delivered over the last 12 months or so.
Interesting to see the IRFU have blocked Stephen Moore going to Munster, as they did with Giteau going to Leinster under Cheika. For the sake of the provinces remaining competitive, I really think they need to put the NIQ limit up to 5+1 from the current 3+1.

Re: Rumour Mill
I dont think it is a good move for Dippy, he needs to start regularly or at least matchday on the big games and dont think he will for Munster, he also needs to play at 6 IMOneiliog93 wrote:^^ Was also in the Indo the other day (I read it when it was there for free..). That will damage Ireland and will be costly. Even so, currently many of the NIQs are journeymen because the provinces can't afford quality.
The only way for the provinces to remain comeptitive in the long term is to develop our own players. That includes giving them time to bed in.

Much better than increasing number of NIQs would be to look for quality in key positions where it is felt an NIQ could help mentor junior squad members.neiliog93 wrote:^^ Was also in the Indo the other day (I read it when it was there for free..). Just as a wild example, imagine if we could sign someone like Aaron Smith for one season, to play and mentor McGrath. If even say 30% of his game awareness and attitude, let alone skill levels rubbed off, it would be difficult to quantify the return on investment, but I'm quite sure it would be more than worth it.

1 the IRFU wasn't including Connacht in these limits, if that changes (and I think it should) then more Irish guys get starts (as it stands theyve 6 NIQs including 4 projects at all stages so maybe it has/is)
B Leinster have reached the point where theyve core, peripheral or prospective internationals in almost all positions, in some cases the 2 top players in certain specialist positions, so they sign even 3 All Blacks then it inhibits national team

Re: Rumour Mill
apparently munster are after Dom Ryan, not sure it would be the best move for him as they have plenty of 6's.
Ulster probably would be a better move for him.

More Ben Te'o conjecture in the Australian media yesterday ......

Ben Te’o’s expected NRL return in 2016 could be delayed.
It’s understood the superstar backrower has attracted interest from Japanese rugby clubs.
The 28-year-old is still under contract with Irish rugby club Leinster but should he opt out of his deal to return to Australia, we expect he’ll make a quick stop over in Japan which will see him back in the NRL in April after the season has kicked off.

I'd love to see some rumours in this thread of somebody actually coming to Leinster ....
