He'd be well worth a punt on the same money as Kirchner maybe.johng wrote:Adam Ashley Cooper leaving Bordeaux. Is he too old now for us? (33 in the summer) Do we need him?
Can play anywhere is his big feature. Slot bim in wherever there are injuries/callups? Or don't bother?
For the right money he would be good. Dunno if he will be available for the right money though

Re: Rumour Mill
AAC would be a great shout as a replacement for ZK if that's an option. Wasn't there talk of him coming here previously?
Just past his prime but still good, can play in multiple positions and definitely more effective than Zane.
He'd be more palatable to IRFU than someone like Dagg too, as he could do a two year stint and not block too much.
Would be surprised if it was an option though, particularly on the same money as ZK (wasn't the rumour that he's on pittance, eg 250k or something?)

If we're looking to hold onto Isa I can't see us getting approval for a second NIQ in the back 3 for next season. Especially with Rob, Dave, Ferg, Adam, Rory and Billy Dardis all knocking about.johng wrote:Adam Ashley Cooper leaving Bordeaux. Is he too old now for us? (33 in the summer) Do we need him?

Think we should focus on getting a world class lock and hopefully Isa goes another year. Happy enough to lose Triggs and Zane.johng wrote:Adam Ashley Cooper leaving Bordeaux. Is he too old now for us? (33 in the summer) Do we need him?

Him and BOD dont get on so not sure if we can morally countenance it

Yeah I think that was BOD's position on his move there and to be honest I'm not sure he wasn't proved right. In fairness I only seen him a few times for them but he certainly didn't blow the doors off.simonokeeffe wrote:Him and BOD dont get on so not sure if we can morally countenance it

Doubt we'd get permission for a top notch TH SR.wixfjord wrote:Aye I'd be happy to get a good lock, some TH cover and keep Isa to be honest.
Neither Leinster nor Ireland are overendowed with quality TH SRs so the emphasis will on developing one.

Disappointing for sure but with ROL and Byrne coming through we should focus on re-signing Isa and going after a top class lock.simonokeeffe wrote:Dagg re signs with NZ to 2019, sorry kids

Definitely interesting, would be better than Zane, but I hope this is alongside Isa rather than instead.
Also do we really need him? TH or a SR would be more useful surely?
