There will always be an element of that in the early days, especially when he's injured. I wouldn't be massively surprised if there's truth to it, but I wouldn't be overly worried either. If he decides to feck off home before giving it a real go then we're not losing anything in my book, if he hangs about then that could all easily change before the end of the season.
