Point of information/argument settler.

Post by Icarus »

Can someone enlighten me as to the maximum number of Leinster players that were on the pitch at any one time during the recent Six Nations?

12 I think. Henderson replaced OMahony. Trimble and O'Connell were always on the pitch.

11 of the 15 on the pitch at one point in the victory in France:

15. Rob Kearney (Not Replaced)
14. Trimble (Not Replaced)
13. O'Driscoll (Not Replaced)
12. D'Arcy (Replaced by McFadden)
11. Dave Kearney (Not Replaced)
10. Sexton (Replaced by Madigan)
9. Murray (Replaced by Reddan)

1. Healy (Replaced by McGrath)
2. Best (Replaced by Cronin)
3. Ross (Replaced by Moore)
4. Toner (Not Replaced)
5. O'Connell (Not Replaced)
6. O'Mahony (Replaced by Henderson)
7. Henry (Not Replaced)
8. Heaslip

Against Italy it was 12 Leinster players on the field at the one time: (Jackson, Trimble and O'Connell the only non-Leinster players on the pitch)

15. R. Kearney
14. Trimble
13. O'Driscoll (replaced by McFadden)
12. D'Arcy
11. D. Kearney
10. Sexton (replaced by Jackson)
9. Murray (replaced by Reddan)

1. Healy (replaced by McGrath)
2. Best (replaced by Cronin)
3. Ross (replaced by Moore)
4. Toner
5. O'Connell
6. Henderson (replaced by Ruddock)
7. Henry (replaced by Murphy)
8. Heaslip

Has Brian O'Driscoll ever played Jonny Wilkinson at club level?

I seem to recall a while back Newcastle playing Leinster in the HEC in Donnybrook on a Friday night. If memory serves Jonny had a stinker that night.

We played them away in Leeds as well, the game had to be rescheduled due to poor pitch from weather I think. Andrews was acting like a pr!ck all during the game as he was annoyed about the decision to relocate. This was before 2009 treattroll :P

Was Croke Park 2007 the last time they played against each other? 2008 Drico was injured (Horgan and Trimble were our centres that day!) and Wilkinson was on the bench. EOS's last game as I remember.

2011 6 nations?

As far as I remember BOD started for Ireland and Wilkinson came on from the bench when England started unravelling so they would both have been on the pitch for some of the match.

That's the away game at the link no?

I remember being at the home fixture that year and it being a decent standard Friday night Donnybrook crowd.

That's the one! Interesting to see that Ian Botham's son was playing on the right wing. Pat Lam starting 8 too.

3 Leinster players still on the team, which is extraordinary.
