Dave Kearney, torn ACL.

Dave Kearney, torn ACL.
Dave Kearney ruled out for the next 4 to 5 months. Leinster confirm he tore his ACL and will require surgery.
Terrible end to a great season for Dave.
Prognosis seems optimistic for an acl tear.

Looked bad on the box.
ACL repairs are routine these days with almost universally successful outcomes but nothing is a given. Best of luck to him in the recovery.

We could be pretty light on wingers for the final if Luke doesn't make it back.
Kirch, RK and MCF with AN Other on the bench, probably Fanning?

Luke's season is done as far as I am aware.

Macken, SCM, Hudson hardly stellar options, am I missing someone?

Rotten luck to miss out on a final but he should be match sharp come November or so. The timing could have been worse.
Look after yourself Dave, looking forward to seeing you back in blue next season.

The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

Not good for Dave at all - missing out I guess on a trip to Argentina to boot.
Wishing him a very speedy recovery though.
Whats the deal then with Luke - recurrence of the previous injury, or something new?

Re: Dave Kearney, torn ACL.
small crumb of comfort is it didnt happen mid season and/or might help us being allowed to sign an (NIQ) winger

Re: Dave Kearney, torn ACL.
Gutted for him. More so it gives opportunities for others on the Argentinian tour, but he's had a massive season, really stepped up for us when needed. Missing himself and Luke really highlights our lack of options in the back three - all the more when so many Leinster back three products are playing top-level rugby elsewhere.
Back-three for final will be Rob, Ferg and Zane. Macken will probably cover wing and 13 with Madigan covering full-back / 10 / 12.
Hope SCM can have a big season next season.

I agree they are routinely successful in terms of stabilising the knee joint. There are however many examples where players who rely on speed and pace lose a yard of pace following the operation so hope this is not something that occurs with DK.jezzer wrote:Looked bad on the box.
