Can't wait to see Girve grow as a coach. Reckon he could be a potential head coach one day.

MOC taking on a fair bit of the workload. He's done a lot of work on our defence, but wouldn't mind seeing a specialist backs coach coming in.

That's my view. I'd actually be looking at an attack coach. I wonder if its reasonable to suggest that Joe came in to work attack sessions given the Ireland context.....

Have we not heard from him in respect of two final appearances (and one win so far) for the A team in the B&I cup in the last two years

I don't think so, regardless of the Ireland angle.

I know how I'd feel if my bosses told me they were bringing in my predecessor to take over a large section of my remit because, even though I'm delivering results, I'm not doing so in the manner of the predecessor.

Back living in Sydney. Last I heard he was coaching schools rugby over there. Last time I heard anything really of note was when he was red carded playing a veterans tournament a few years ago for giving grief to the referee.

I want to win the League, but I want to win it better. You CAN understand that can't you?

I've heard MOC claims to be a modern manager but doesn't even own a mobile phone.

Having him there IS almost like having a 2nd Captain in the team though...

We may have enough to win the league - though I'm really worried about this game.......but we can't discount the fact that the league standard is not only pretty average but it definitely slipped this year as the Welsh clubs imploded during the European mess, the Italians were worse than ever and Edinburgh were pants. The way we play simply cannot win a European Cup and that's why we need somebody who can move our backline to the next level. This was THE thought when Leinster hired Joe. They knew that to kick on to the next level that they needed to step change the way the backs played and our back play patterns and they took a coach that we believed was not as well rounded in other areas (by his own admission) to make that happen.

O'Connor has done some decent work with our defence for sure but attack is a huge gap in our armoury at the moment and I'm not sure he has what it takes to make it work.

Fair play to him, I'd love to not own a mobile phone. Suggested it at home once but got 'the look' from herself.
