sh!t airline. Probably the only airline I'll say that about.

The experience of flying with them from Dublin to Seoul via the wrong airport in Istanbul is something I'll never forget. They weren't to blame for the weather obviously, but the rest..........they are rubbish.

But this is avout sponsorship and not connections.

The league / competition is called the Pro12. When a sponser name is added it becomes the Rabo Pro12 for example. The league in general should be referred to as the Pro12

Isn't that one of the problems from a sponsor's pov? The league can quite happily be discussed as the PRO12 with no loss of information and also no mention of the sponsor. The "Magner's league" on the other hand couldn't be just called "the league" in casual conversation and tended to be shortened to "the Magner's".

If I were a sponsor I'd want that sort of situation where my firm's name became integral to the competition itself.

Yeah but people would shorten it to the Turkish 12. Th Turkish Airlines Premiership would be even more confusing.

It would just simply be the Turkish Airlines PRO12 and the press will have to call it that under sponsorship terms.

Don't believe any drinks company are in the running.

Turkish Airlines also tipped to have some involvement in the new European Cup.

At an information night at Ravenhill last night our CEO said no sponsor at present and anyway the financial implications are not really important as it is a chicken feed amount per team anyway and the only real cash is from the tv plus that coverage increases sponsor value to teams.
I had heard the time that BBC NI started broadcasting all the Ulster matches that the big financial gain was from increased sponsor value more than actual cash from tv, I think we are unique though with all home matches live and any away matches televised shown also either on tv or BBC website

The Pro12 sponsors may provide peanuts, but I wonder how much this compares to the amount Aviva provide the AP?

The T14 doesn't have a title sponsor either although this probably a deliberate decision on their part.

My guess is the lack of a title sponsor for the Pro12 may be more of an embarrassment for the competition rather than a serious financial issue.

From a report of the Ulster CEO's talk to the supporters club, he said that a previous shirt sponsor of Glasgow (Response, I think) paid them virtually nothing but Glasgow went for this anyway as it was seen as more embarrassing NOT to have a shirt sponsor.
