Re: So who is injured? 2014/2015
This really is bad news for Sean O'Brien and Cian Healy and a huge blow for Leinster and Ireland.
Unfortunately SOB has had a pretty rough time of it injury wise over the last three years and I really hope he can have a few years of rude health after this.
For Leinster the losses of O'Brien, Healy and Murphy really does rob us of alot of the dynamism and powerful ball carrying that will be so important
against the more physically powerful teams later in the European competition in particular.
Last year losing O'Brien in the build up to the return fixture versus Northampton was critical as he was so instrumental in the win in the away game
and as he also was in the away game at the Liberties to the Ospreys.
O'Brien brings a level of power to the open side position that Jennings or Ryan struggle to get close to.
I am a huge fan of both players but they are replacing probably one of the most dominant men in his position in World Rugby when he is firing on all cylinders
and is in the Isa, BOD, Rocky, Sexton etc mould...world class and so hard to replace.
I don't mention Jamie in this group because the guy is NEVER missing.
This current injury list is a huge blow but this a great chance for Jack McGrath, Rhys Ruddock, Dominc Ryan and Jack Conan to step up and see if
they can create some magic of thier own. Strauss and Zane will also add some much needed zip to the team on their return.
We are down to the bare bones in a few positions and what seemed a quite manageable ECC group may see us struggle
to get a home draw and avoid a repeat of last year.

The infection he had during recovery the last time is apparently why the previous surgery wasn't successful. More info from MOC here.

Only one of them was on the winning team, the other three were out classed and out played. Which is worrying from Joe's pov and the AIs, though the only one he couldn't pick yet is CJ so maybe it's not as big an issue for Ireland.simonokeeffe wrote:I know, even with four Leinster backrowers starting in the AvivaAll Blacks nil wrote:Simonsimonokeeffe wrote:good thing we have that embarassment of backrow riches

Re: So who is injured? 2014/2015
So McFadden (lower leg, ankle?) and Furlong (concussion?) added to the ever growing injury list. Madigan and Fanning received a fair amount of treatment during the second half too.
Marsh, Daly and O'Shea all injured in the A game?

Look out Itchy, he's Irish
Re: So who is injured? 2014/2015
Mcfadden's injury not as bad as first feared.
Sprained his ankle so he'll be out for 4-6 weeks.

Re: So who is injured? 2014/2015
Physio cramped up and may have damaged a calf muscle.
Had to spend weekend in swimming pool to aid his recovery.
Hopefully he is not under the IRFU player control (you know what I mean) otherwise his Schminutes are up.!!!

Tackled Van Den Heever on the wrong side and looked to be concussed. Was taken off straight after that.

what's the story with Locky?
best quote from croker was this old boy behind me after about 65 minutes when you could see the red jerseys flooding out of the place
"Lock the gates, make them watch"
Disturbing yet arousing at the same time

Re: So who is injured? 2014/2015
This is actually getting a bit funny at this stage. Worst injury crisis to ever hit us?
Bent, Strauss and Furlong to be our HEC bench options then.
Time to step up Tadhg...
