Josh Murphy shouldn't move to the row. He has the skills and hardness to be a Croft-type flanker with great defensive line-out and openplay ball carrier..

DO'C is a hard working TH lock who gives 100% and has a great engine. May never be an international but like his brother in Ulster, he is excellent value.

I doubt he will move to the row as he is too light in the scrum but he is nowhere near the athlete Croft or Bonnie are/were.

He has the height, skills, hardness and line out biliary to be an excellent lock too.

Given leinster overlooked Mick Kearney and Alan O'Connor for being not big enough.. I was happy enough they didn't risk making the same mistake with DOC. Having Alan would be a huge boost right now. Instead we are signing Ian "I am injured again" Nagle.

Finished 24-49 to Leinster A. A couple of breakaway tries at the end meant Moseley were happy with a bonus point.

Two tries for Dan Leavy and 7 conversions out of seven for Cathal Marsh. Looked very good in parts, but became a bit disjointed with all the subs on at the end.

I checked the result on BBC Sport and they have a 49-24 win for Moseley. Probably some sort of Premiership plot to make us look worse.

Jaysus, Leavy must be nearly into double figures for tries at this stage

Most of the tries came from close range drives, they clearly had been practising their line-out catch and maul... The back row and the half backs looked like the class of the side; Ross Byrne came on in the second half and Marsh moved to first centre though. Adam Byrne looked very good in the first half and took his try well, but he went off for Cian Kelleher quite early on (half time I think). I thought MacCarthy played very well, although I suspect the Stringer-esque waving of arms in the air and looking beseechingly at the ref was beginning to annoy the ref. That said, he was very lively and (mostly) got he ball away with a very snappy service. Fanning put himself about a lot too. James Ryan came on for a 10 minute cameo and seemed to be having fun hitting rucks.

Interesting team, strange that there's no Marsh or Ross Byrne. Exciting to see James Ryan starting already.

Byrne isn't in the European squad. Suspect they're not being risked with the game against the Dragons next Friday on the horizon.

Number of players picked up injuries against Moseley - Adam Byrne [hamstring] and Tom Daly [knee] amongst them. Tom Farrell has concussion symptoms, hence a rare start in the centre for Rory O'Loughlin, who has been playing a lot of wing for Belvo in the AIL.

:( That would seem to mean that we will be missing 17 players for that game so

Well topped the group already and most likely secured a home 1/4 (if it works that way)

So might as well give the academy a run
