Josh van der Flier man of the match for me! Bit of a ridiculous thing to focus on somebody's tackle technique when we won by 50+ points, but he is textbook. Changes levels at the last second, chops, wraps the arms and they drop like tall timbers cut off at the base. The lad has really kept improving over the last year and had a blinder. He was absolutely everywhere.

Lots of good performances out there though. Mick McGrath, Leavy, Marsh and Kelleher all excelled too.

Thought vd Flier and Leavy combined well at the breakdown. Mick McGrath hobbled off near the end. Not sure how serious it may have been.

johng wrote:Good fun. Mick Mcgrath is an absolute weapon at this level. Timony looks great. Huge guy too. The 17 looks great. I believe he can play tight head too. Loughman? Was 22 5 when I arrived. So I missed Mackens tries. They were just scoring for fun. Kelleher Marsh Mcgrath. Lost count.
Marsh kicked a touch finder penalty dead, was mixed from the tee, but looked great with ball in hand. Love to see him at the top level.
yeah Loughman was the sub prop.. can play both LH and TH..

How'd Molony/Thornbury/Beirne do?

Impossible to really rate anyone as the opposition was so poor. As for the team, will obviously depend on injuries with the firsts. We also took a fairly large squad to away games in Europe last season, not sure if that's continued.

What he said. I was not really looking at the nuts and bolts stuff with any kind of critical eye. Thornbury played the 80 I think and showed a decent bit of pace for a big guy for his try. Molony always looks decent when I have seen him. Very physical for such a young guy.

Good team but surely Hagen will be on the bench at Quins along with Bent? I also suspect Luke McG and possibly Ben Marshall may be held as cover because of Boss & Douglas doubts.

Furlong is ahead of Hagan.. Hagan could easily be with the team though.
Possible those two will be unavailable too.
Game is away so at jersey you'd assume the team announced Morrow will be the team that lines out on Saturday.

How's O'Loughlin going for the A's?

I'm disappointed Ringrose hasn't seen any B&I cup action this season (that I recall), I know he's only first year academy, but was hoping he'd make such a big impression that he would push to feature in his first season. It's asking a lot, but if any player I've seen could do it, it's that guy.
jezzer wrote:He will never be the second coming of BOD, because the only thing their game shares is probably the appetite for work around the pitch. He'll hopefully be the first coming of Ringrose.

didnt play last week, so its been awhile since he last played for the A's. He is going fairly well for Belvo in the AIL.

Ringrose isn't going to be rushed, UCD and AIL this year while continuing to get his weight up.
Both Farrell and O'Loughlin would have at least 7kg on him.

Loughman is the youngest.

I'd say Dundon is with the senior squad (Tracy isn't registered for European games). Likewise Hagan, Denton, McLaughlin, Macken, possibly Mick McGrath too.
