Am I? The uniqueness of a Leinster game being played in Navan/Gorey/Kilkenny etc would pull in a significant crowd and certainly better than yet another A game in Donnybrook
It's not a Leinster game though, it's a Leinster 'A' game and a massive swathe of Leinster fans simply don't appear to give a shite, much as that saddens me.

Well I think the novelty alone might bring a few punters through the gate. It might not bring any more than Donnybrook, but it could be a good loss leader to fill games in an expanded RDS or Avivia in the future.

Perhaps but I wonder if the clubs would actively seeking these matches though. Don't forget, at this time of the season, pitches are in high demand for club fixtures alone. I know clubs are keen on the training open days cause they're generally in the summer. 'A' matches might be seen as just another headache for the pitches officer.

Another thing now I think of it is that the senior coaches generally attend the 'A' games as well to keep an eye on things, even when the senior team are playing later on in the day. Handier spin from the RDS to Donnybrook than to say Longford. Not using that as a reason to rule out games around the province but it wouldn't surprise me if that influenced their thinking.

Some very ropey defending there. Jordan Coghlan seemed to have a nightmare when he was in the back row. Can see what Hugonaut means about Kelleher not passing, ridiculous not to use Byrne after his fantastic break. Would be interesting to see how we'd have done with a better scrum.

Holding off on making it public until the 23 for the Wasps match is named probably. Given his track record on such things MOC probably reckons Wasps are waiting anxiously for the A team announcement to know who is in the senior match day squad and then scrap all the preparation they have done this week on the back of that information. Actually, the farce of MOC's secrecy around team announcements these days deserves one of these

Absolutely. Best third-choice hooker in Europe. Although it's been good for Brian Byrne to get some decent game-time with the seniors too and he's done pretty well.

Was very impressed with him when Leinster U-19's beat that Australian schools' team last year. Very powerful carrier. Assume he'll be there or therabouts for Ireland U-20's this season.

Both Byrne brothers have really impressed, with ball in hand especially. Bryan does need to do a little but of work on his throwing, but they both look like handy enough players given that they've only just turned 21.
