Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Lashing rain and huge wind in Cardiff according to Leinster Twitter. Could be a slog with lots of scrums.

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Our team is reasonably well set up for wet weather play in every department bar the most important one at half back, interesting to see how it goes.

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
As last nights game in Kilmarnock proved the 4G pitch allows lots of rugby in wet weather.. As for the wind, that's about selecting your kicks and recognising that 4G doesn't reward low grubber kicks like a wet grass pitch does. Play ball in hand against their sloppy defence and make our first up tackles against their freescoring attack. Doesn't sound too difficult?

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Conditions really horrendous!
Cardiff really looking like they don't want to be out there for their warm up. Pathetic intensity and they look like they have the conditions on their minds more than the match. I'm probably reading too much into it but if we start with a real intensity then I could see us blowing them away.

Fitzgibbon really hasn't a clue.....
We all dream of a team of Sean O'Briens......
Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Never a yellow
Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Howler from fitzgibbon there. It was a great tackle by Ferg. Fitzfibbon had obviously decided what he was going to do before he saw the reply

Wasn't even a penalty. Scrum Leinster.jimbobjoe wrote:Never a yellow

Totally disagree. McFadden once again tackles without using his arms getting yet ANOTHER yellow card. Once is an accident now he's just being dumb/careless.

Did he even watch the replay or did he just go over and rehearse the nonsense he was about to spout?

Except for the fact that he did clearly use his arms.sunshiner1 wrote:Totally disagree. McFadden once again tackles without using his arms getting yet ANOTHER yellow card. Once is an accident now he's just being dumb/careless.

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Tadgh needs to have a HIA or a Blood Injury and come back with 25 mins left.
When he's leaving he should take Fitzgibbon with him. His assessment of the FACTS of that McFadden tackle show either gross incompetence or something worse. Nothing less that we've come to expect of him but confirms every prejudice that Leinster fans have been accused of in our view of Fitzgibbon. For the record, the camera angles clearly show McFadden uses both arms in tackle but collides head to head with opponent!
Let's hope that this decision alone provides the absolute motivation to win this

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
25 minutes in, and this ref has already ruined a try opportunity for us with that BS 'turned' scrum, and now a BS yellow card... referees should be held accountable for this s*1t

Like 99% of tackles, it was his shoulder that made contact first. But he clearly tried to wrap his arms.sunshiner1 wrote:if by arms you mean shoulder then I agreeExcept for the fact that he did clearly use his arms.

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Leavy could have a big role here, really lacking a 7 out there.
Re: Cardiff v Leinster
Jordi Murphy really is not a 7. Shown again and again.

Re: Cardiff v Leinster
We'll have to agree to disagree but I don't think there is any malice in McFadden's challenge. I'm p@ssed off at McFadden though. Two yellow cards in three weeks both for tackles leading with the shoulder shows me that Ferg needs to change his tackle technique because if he mistimes it even remotely it looks dangerous as hell and he gets 10 mins in the sin bin.Like 99% of tackles, it was his shoulder that made contact first. But he clearly tried to wrap his arms.
