Leinster v Embra Friday 7.35 RDS TG4
Good opportunity next weekend to claw back into the top two, with Ospreys and Munster playing on the Saturday.
5 day turnaround makes things harder, but we should see a few fresh guys coming in.
Possible side:
Dooley, Tracy, Ross, McCarthy, Molony, Leavy, VDF, Conan, McGrath, Carbery, Byrne, Reid, ROL, DK, Isa
Porter, Strauss, Bent, Nagle, Ryan, JGP, Byrne, Ferg
Front 5 is a completely lottery, particularly could just as easily see Strauss start and second row is unpickable.
That side should have more than enough for Embra though. Interested to see how the backline goes particularly.

Actually, any chance we might see J Sex on the bench for this one I wonder?

That'd be too much risk in one place - one outhalf starting his first game after a couple of months out injured being backed up by another stuck together with blue tack and twinewixfjord wrote:Actually, any chance we might see J Sex on the bench for this one I wonder?

I think it's green tack...

Possibly, would be harsh on Byrne also.Dave Cahill wrote:That'd be too much risk in one place - one outhalf starting his first game after a couple of months out injured being backed up by another stuck together with blue tack and twinewixfjord wrote:Actually, any chance we might see J Sex on the bench for this one I wonder?
I wonder which need is the more perssing then. Surely Sexton can't go into France with no gametime, and if Sexton is fit (a big if), Carbery won't likely be needed for that game.
From a Leinster POV, I'd prefer Carbery to start.

'Unfair' and 'harsh' are concepts which sometimes have to be forgotten in professional sport, especially when you have as complex contractual relationships as between the Provinces and IRFU. Joe may not need Joey as badly as he thought but he certainly wants to have J10 in match-fit shape before the French game - talk about a three-cornered circle. Nothing's simple at this point.

The addition of JVDF and Jonathon Treacy are excellent additions to the Squad for the weekend. However, is there any indication that Joe wants Joey C for his Squad or J10 to get more game time?

Yesterday's injury update makes it sound like this game will come a week too soon for Isa. McFadden should be available though. Ruddock not back until the Dragons match.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Teams up in an hour.
You'd assume the call has come from up high for Joey to start.
I'd love to see Dardis at 23 with a back 3 of Byrne, Zane and DK

He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Ryan over Leavy at 6? Really?
Adam Byrne on the bench behind Daly/Kearney? Not a fan.

Generally a good side but I can't figure out why Daly is playing ahead of Adam Byrne. Love the pack and the halfbacks though so looking forward to it.

Re: Leinster v Embra Friday 7.35 RDS TG4
We have to factor in the 5 day turnaround. That said it's an interesting selection. No Strauss is a big call. Maccer ahead of both Kearney and Nagle is interesting, and continues the Lock Mysteries. Dippy played a full 80 last week with Leavy coming off so I don't get that one personally. I wonder how long Isa is out for too.

Maybe Byrne needs a rest as hes expected to play more? But 11 is DKs best position
Will confirm this from desktop but Edinburghs 4 props have 8 senior appearances between them, one of the starters is 29 and was playing club rugby until this season
