Cardiff v Leinster Fri 7.35 Eir/TG4

Post by wixfjord »

Aaaaand we're back!

After Newcastle, this one should be interesting to see where we're at. Cardiff haven't had a huge amount of turnover of players (bar Warburton) and have brought in Manoa.

According to Ross Byrne he's 'hopeful of being back in Leinster’s team from the start of the Pro14 season against Cardiff Blues next Saturday', which would be a huge boost. http://www.the42.ie/ross-byrne-leinster ... 7-Aug2018/

So we should look something like:
Dooley/Byrne, Tracy, Bent, Molony, Fardy, Murphy, Ruddock, Deegan, McGrath, Byrne, Lowe, Tomane, ROL, Daly, Kearney
Dooley/Byrne, Byrne, Vakh, Kearney, Doris, McCarthy, Reid, A Byrne

Still a nice side even given the guys out.

The issues might come in the back row, which is a little slower than you'd like on a fake pitch and lacking a real 7.
Should be interesting to see how our 10/12/13 channel goes defensively too. Looked very nervy against Falcons.

After all the silly season stuff, it's good to have the real thing back!

I thought that the 2 from 3 problem only applies in European competitions?

What a shame for WIll Connors.

We're lacking a 7 now until Leavy/SOB/VDF comes back. I assume Rhys will fill in there for the time being.

First time we have started in Cardiff since Isa's debut 10 years ago. Hopefully Joe Timony (I'm Hibernasising him like Iosa) has a try scoring debut too.

Tbh I'd shake your hand now on the same 16 all draw too.

Difficult to extract any clues from the training photos today as to who's likely to feature on Friday.

Challenge Cup Champs v Champions Cup Champs

Still though, Pro14 is CHYTE!
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

IIRC we were all giving out about his weak tackling after the match.

But your version is better.

That is a really decent side. Strong start quite important to the season. Cardiff will really fancy their chances
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick
