Giving another year to RK especially with the fixtures backlog makes sense. Fardy is 36 and kept for leadership. Why not Kearney who is only just turned 34.
Saving money must be a big factor too.
I don't really buy the argument that we need to keep guys around because of a potentially busy schedule. I actually think this this is the perfect time to use our squad/talented youngsters because others don't have the depth that we do...which is why I was rejected for the DOR job at Munster.

Difficult to project, I wonder if they will take in Ward and Hanan from this years 20's to have bodies at those positions.
Marcus Hanan or Harry Noonan at 1.
Charlie Ward can cover 1 and 3.
Bobby Sheehan or John McKee at hooker.
Now could they look at the AIL?
Prop: Adam Coyle(Naas) or JP Phelan(Clontarf)
Hooker: Dylan Donnellan(Clontarf) or Tadgh McElroy(Clontarf)
I suppose they'll bring Ward into the squad and maybe call on Coyle for short-term cover if necessary like they did a few seasons ago.
Is that Joe Byrne guy who was backing up Aungier for the Ireland U20s still playing?

He doesn’t take rugby seriously anymore he doesn’t wanna go professional
Ryan reckons he’s bulked up a little more while in lockdown.
“I’m about 113 (kg) and that’s where I see my optimum weight. Usually I’m about 112 so this period has allowed me to put on a small bit of size,” says Ryan.

Sensible move for Downing, finally a move that makes sense for all concerned, could they just annnoynce the contract renewals so I can actually get a good night sleep

Unfortunately the announcement of contracts at Leinster is no longer the precursor for a good nights sleep.
They have been shown to be not worth the paper they are written on
Connacht have been really smart here. Not only are the players they've signed already quality but they are still young enough to improve with consistent game time.

Rumored to be signing Wootton from munster also. Good move for all involved if that's true.

Yes, fallen badly out of favour down in Munster. Cian Tracy reporting that van Graan moving out quite a few players, he's not mentioned ... but it makes sense.

I always rated Wotton, that would be another bit of excellent business for Connacht.
Interesting quote tweeted by Leinster rugby today as it's the Anniversary of the 2012 HC.
Subliminal message?
"There is something special about playing for the team you grew up supporting.
That is the team you want to represent more than anything.
Success with this team means the world to me."

8 years today eh. My Gawd!
You'd wonder if a new quota rule might come into Ulster and Munster soon.
Must have at least X number of home grown players in the match day squad. The value of X could cause serious problems.
There is 1 Limerick lad in the Munster academy.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!
