Leinster v Munster - Aug 22nd
Pro 14 re-start - Aug 21st
Leinster V Saracens - Sept 12th
Pro-14 new comp - Oct 3rd
Heino final - Oct 17th
6N Oct - 23rd

...perhaps.

I have issue with the plan of keeping the squads together until October. From recent personal experience of being banged up with co-workers for an extended period, lack of daily variety and separation from family and friends has a negative effect on personal performance.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

A pool with 3 teams only has 2 opponents. Home and away equals 4 weekends.

Unless you are suggesting leinster will play home and away against ourselves (cue joke about finally getting some tough opposition....)

In a group of 3 there will be a total of 6 matches between the teams. As you can only play one match per weekend it would still need six weekends to complete the pool.

I was being somewhat flippant. It is a workable situation but you'd need the assistance of the domestic leagues. There would be 8 teams from each league. The scheduling would need to be done such that all 8 from each league are unscheduled on the same weekend thereby allowing them to play a league fixture.

It's a bit messy but it's workable and would allow a more streamlined schedule. Something has to give in this year's schedule. Some of the current suggestions out there are ludicrous. No tournament appears to be willing to yield and, as such, we could be looking at a season with top players being asked to play 30+ high level games.

Why would a team with a bye week not play in their domestic league? Even if there was an odd number of teams per league, its just a scheduling issue. But with 8 teams per league, week 1 can be pro 14 v top 14, week 2 Pro 14 v prem, week 3 top 14 v prem, etc etc

BTW I'm not a proponent this. But it's doable.

That provisional schedule is now in doubt, certainly as far as the Heino is concerned, what with the Prem clubs yesterday postponing their return to training for another two weeks.

Has anyone got money back for tickets yet? I bought 5 for the Leinster Munster game.
