Re: Leinster Academy 19/20
Interesting to see two highly rated club players who are still in school have moved to AIL clubs for the season:
Under-19, William Reilly(Scrumhalf/Portlaoise RFC) joined MU Barnhall and started for them at the weekend in AIL action.
Under-18, Karl Martin(Centre/Boyne RFC) joined Old Belvedere and has been playing for their 20's side.
as far as I'm aware the other highly rated club player from the 19's still in school, Jamie Osborne, is still playing with Naas RFC.

Some Paddy McKenzie clips I came across on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_dJWXyRkPw
McKenzie was back playing Old Wesley's 20's at the weekend, in their Under 20 Premiership 1 Qualifier victory over St. Mary’s 27-5. Was very good going by reports.
Be interested to see if he can push into their AIL side at some stage, don't think he is currently training at donnybrook, although I could be wrong on that.
List of current players training at COE i've seen:
Looks a bit light on backs so could be an incomplete list, Paddy McKenzie, Rob Gilsenan, Max O'Reilly & James Reynolds are notable absentees.

Good video, Paddy is a very good broken field runner and fine passer of a ball, decision making is up there too. Looks to have improved his kicking game a lot too

was hoping he'd be pushing for AIL action, but he may later in season.
anything else of interest to report from that game?

Re: Leinster Academy 19/20
Yes, the size difference of Aaron Coleman of when he played Cup last season is ridiculous, he’s gotten so much bigger and leaner he’s like a bodybuilder, during Leinster in the fitness test he was the fittest out of all the forwards and the backs breaking the record in the fitness test, will be interesting to see how he develops his rugby IQ and skill set over time, hopefully he can make a few appearances off the bench in Ail later on in the year, he won’t start any games in the 7 jersey unless Max Kearney gets injured. Will be interesting to see if he can make Ireland u20 squad.mildlyinterested wrote:great.Pilotman123 wrote: Yeah definitely I watched the UCD and Trinity game on the weekend and he was starting in the backrow for the u20s

The newbridge outhalf Maloney played well for UCD during the game. Rob Gilsenan was on the bench due to St Michael’s having their debs the night before. Trinity and UCD don’t seem to be as strong as last year but it’s early days and anything can happen. Over all Trinity were the better team on the day.

Re: Leinster Academy 19/20
reports were that Coleman was very good for the 19's, of course he was playing in a pack that was dominant.
could make 20's depends on injuries etc. Not many opensides at u20 level other than Hernan.

Well earned too by the sounds of things.
To be really really anal its CCFC (County Carlow Football Club) a) because it predates the IRFU and b) using 'county' annoys Tullow.

It didn't do them much good against Tullow two weeks ago. Are you travelling this week?Morf wrote:Saw that!mildlyinterested wrote:Barry Gray(Hooker) of Carlow RFC made ireland u18 club squad for trip to play italy.
