Leinster clubs won 3 of their 4 games today.

An older ulster development side defeated a U20 leinster side 15-12 today in Ulster.

Leinster's tries were from a penalty try and a maul try.

Unfortunately, today's #LeinsterU19 game against @ExeterChiefs has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions

Wonder what they will do now, half the squad named don't have a trial game played pre-interpros and the other half were part of an ugly loss.

Mark O’Brien has joined Old Belvedere and has been training with the senior team

by all accounts Old Belvo are very active.

Roman Salanoa listed on the leinster website as being in the leinster academy... very odd situation, by all accounts he hasn't been too impressive playing AIL for Old Belvedere, now he has gotten a leinster academy contract even when leinster academy contracts have gotten harder to get, plus leinster have two TH props in the academy, one of which(Clarkson) is a top tier prospect.

Not a fan of the move and would love to learn the reasoning for it and the logic behind it.

Were there not 2 lads denied academy contracts recently too who looked like they would get in. Ulster lad McKee who has been in Leinster sub academy and..... mildly will know the other can't remember atm.

thats the rumour, it's fairly unclear what actually happened.. McKee and Foley are still involved with Leinster this summer at least.

Salanoa situation makes no sense to me, last thing leinster need help with is props.

be interested to see how much he plays for Leinster A during the celtic cup.

I don't see how it's strange. They think he's talented enough to give him a shot, and presumably he needs to be involved for intensive training to make up for his late arrival to the game. If it works out then great, if not then at least we gave him a fair shake at things. There would have been no point bringing in a unique athlete like him in the first place when we knew he would be need special attention if we then didn't give him that special attention. Maybe he gets cut next summer, or maybe it takes him five years to be good enough, who knows but it's worth a shot.

Said this before but I would really love this to work out. The idea that a guy from Hawaii could be cut from American Football and then move over here at such a young age and potentially make it with Leinster would be a helluva story.
