Why? It's a squad for rotating not a strongest XXIII

I also note that the 2 from 3 problem sees all 4 picked at the 1st chance in HC too.

Ah come on, if he's not injured then it's very bad news for him. He was poor against New Zealand, poor last week, and himself and Furlong are the only two internationals not brought back in for tomorrow who, to the best of my knowledge, weren't injured. There's a big difference with Furlong though because he wasn't involved last week and the guy taking his place was excellent last week and Bent has been good all season. Larmour wasn't even involved last week yet comes straight in ahead of him.

And if you were going to give Larmour some fullback time at HC level and give Kearney a rest, there wouldn't be a better time.

Same with Furlong.

Good to see Byrne and JGP being rested for the big away game the following weekend.

Match Preview

In the aftermath of a World Cup, especially yet another disappointing one for Ireland, it's hard to find the usual excitement that normally greets the opening weekend of the Heineken Champions Cup.

However both the fans and players have to get on with it and hopefully once the games get going it will be business as usual. Leinster are looking to reclaim the trophy they relinquished to Saracens in Newcastle last May. In their pool they've drawn Lyon (currently 1st in the Top 14) and Northampton (currently 2nd in the Aviva Premiership) as well as Benetton, the first Italian team to qualify on merit. Leinster are in the same pool as an Italian side in Europe for first time in fifteen years.

I'd say if you keep banging on (subtly or otherwise) about Sextons demise you'll eventually be right. Might be a while though. A stopped clock is correct twice a day. You bringing McGrath into the equation now?

It's a very strong side, good to see Kelleher and Tomane keeping their place on form. Can't argue with Larmour starting at FB ahead of Kearney.

Hopefully all 5 points in the bag before we head to Lyon

Same with Furlong.
Why would you give Kearney 20 minutes against Connacht and then give him a rest?

Monty Ioane not in Treviso's squad. Is he injured?
Keatley ahead of Tomasso Allan is also a suprise.
Keatley btw is a "Munster man" according to the The42, as was Felix last week.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!
