Huge game for Molony. Seems to have been waiting in the wings for months now.
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Not really sure about that.. He's been 4th choice and comfortably since Fardy arrived.. Not much he can do to displace the three players in front of him..

Strong pack, strong backline. Little bit of opportunity mixed in.

Molony has been struggling for gametime so he'll want a big game and he has a chance here to partner Ryan. Frawley too gets a really experienced starting backline.

Lot of talent on the bench, some inexperienced.

True. I just feel I haven't seen too much of him and I rate him.

He's got to be acutely aware that Baird is a very viable option in the 4 shirt.

Want to see how he responds

Molony is just back from injury not sure he has been struggling for gametime with 8 appearances this season despite the injury.

It's a big one.

There's no dishonor in being 4th in such a strong panel, but he'll still be craving opportunity.

It's not going to make his Leinster career or break it. When Fardy leaves, likely at the end of the season, then Molony time to step up will come.. Otherwise he could see himself falling behind another younger lock in Baird.. Until then there are no big ones.. Unless he gets a start in Europe knock out game due to injury

Can't wait to see Salanoa, Baird, Byrne get a run.

Big game for Frawley too.

Backline might be a wee bit blunt, would've liked to see Kelleher getting a start. But we'll have enough up front for them.

Connacht side looks a bit thrown together.
We'll have too much for that Connacht side. It's a weak pack with no Dillane, Roux, Bealham, Butler or Fainga'a in it.

The nipper outhalf can be got at as well, hopefully Will/Max/Joe can get some good hits in early on him and shake him up - makes the defense that much easier and more profitable when the opposition 10 is hearing footsteps.

Match Preview

It was lucky number thirteen for Leinster as they made it a baker's dozen of wins last weekend in Limerick.

Leinster played the conditions smartly to earn a decent lead in the first half when they had the wind in their favour. Then they defended superbly in the second half to hold Munster out and earn a satisfying win.

I'd imagine Moloney was the person most upset that Joe didn't include Toner in the RWC squad.

Suspect Dev himself might have been a tad put out by the decision....

Love the look of that team. As usual there's a great mix of youth and experience and realistically any team we put out is capable of playing great rugby.

Hopefully the starting team goes well and then we play the youngsters off the bench without being under much pressure. Who wouldn't be excited about seeing Salanoa, Baird, and Harry Byrne?

I'd loss to see a training game with that back row up against Josh Murphy, VDF, and Doris...and that's without Leavy and Conan being around.

It's a real pity that Adam Byrne hasn't kicked on this season. Who knows what'll happen with players leaving etc but having said recently that I thought he could be in a good place next season that was very much with the expectation that he'd be playing in a game like this.

Agree with all your points re Molony bar your assertion that there are no big ones for him until Fardy leaves. No player in this squad can afford to let young bucks creep up in the perception stakes as Baird in particular has the potential to do in the row.

Molony, who has done nothing wrong, needs to be seen in the same light as the emerging backrowers who are blazing a trail when they get their chance - Josh Murphy is the marker for Molony, less flashy than some but maturing into a long term A-lister all the time

Make or break would be a bit much. But a few good performances would really help. Molony has captained a few games and that is valuable, especially with so many other young players.

But I'm sure he wants more than that and hes probably not the sort to want to wait until It's handed to him next season.

He's not as dynamic as Baird, that doesn't mean he can't be more valuable.

Jaysus Frawley has been ridiculous so far!

This could be 50 at this rate.
