The bit that gets my goat currently the most is this malarkey assorted commentators spout about how Saracens made the players "better persons". They're arrogant behaviour on the pitch and how they go out of their way to demean and ridicule their opponents onfield reveals this claim to be just another part of a larger scam. They're scammers like Trump the lot of them, not just Wray and the accountants.

Anyway, getting back to the actual game we have to play in the Aviva.
If we look at Saracens game at home v Munster with almost a full deck (Maro and the Honeymonster missing, maybe some more). They were not that great, behind up to the 63rd min or so and hadn't left anything behind up to that point. We turn up in reasonable shape they are gonna find it tough going.

Still vividly remember the game in newcastle and had a sinking feeling when they didn't get the BP try against racing (which meant they would have played exeter away). Lancaster and Cullen both felt that newcastle last year was a chance missed...we did miss some gilt edged chances to score tries in the first half but I felt we were completely dominated in the 2nd.

I agree with you that they didn't look great v munster at home, but, I think that was the first big game for their WC players coming back. I maybe wrong and stand corrected on that. If we get through the 6N with minimum injuries, I feel confident we can win this. They do have an outstanding bench....Skelton, as a stand in for Billy V, is pretty damn good. Daley is a quality replacement at FB for Williams...not as good but a seasoned lion (on the wing).

In 2018, I felt the saracens quarters in the aviva was the "real final". This season, am not so sure. Home advantage will help.

Apparently, some of the salarysins players are looking to move to france. They cannot sign to another english club without taking a massive salary cut. Which would mean eddie jones wont be able to select them for England if I understand the RFU rules correctly.

Apparently they can be selected in "exceptional circumstances." who knows what they are but I'd think this counts.

Farrell, itoje and Billy v maybe off to lyon.. Hope they wait til end of season.... Would be sweet to win against the same team as in Newcastle.

I find it hard to believe those Lyon rumours, they were only relegated officially at the weekend. Far too much to sort out in that time unless they had sketched out the deals in November and then pulled the trigger when things officially went belly up.

IMO, our problems in Newcastle related exclusively to the power of the Sarries' front-five. They lost a Prop, then another but their scrum got stronger and more dominant. Yes, we made mistakes, notably a badly executed box kick when the clock was in the red just before half-time, but the essential shortcoming was the power of their front five which meant we were unable to impose pressure on them.

Not a lot has changed since Newcastle - but hopefully enough of those marginal gains will be sufficiently in our favour to alter the outcome.

In my view those gains are:
1. The significant international experience gained by James Ryan & Andrew Porter:
2. The advent of Ronan Kelleher as one of our potential hookers;
3. The increased experience of Peter Dooley as a front-line LHP;
4. Luke McGrath's improved understanding & execution in increasing our tempo:
5. The experience of the entire Squad who played Sarries in Newcastle and the lessons they learned as to how Sarries imposed themselves on us in the 2nd half.

Exeter Chiefs, with perhaps the best PRL coaching brain of Rob Baxter, have gradually learned how to play against and beat Sarries in important matches. They learned from each of their games over the past four years what are the vital aspects and they now execute their own game in their own time.

I have confidence that Leo, Stuart, Felipe and Robin McBride have the collective coaching 'nous' to beat whatever crew Sarries assemble to face us on April 4th in Aviva. I strongly believe that a noisy Leinster full house can provide a critical point of difference for such a game. But above all, I believe that the artificial nature of Saracens' season will have dawned fully on their players by that date and, by full time, they will realize they are playing their last ever meaningful game as a Club team.
