Leinster v Glasgow Fri 28 Feb KO 19:35

Post by cormac »

Should get a few back from the Ireland squad. Would expect to see McGrath, Kearney, Deegan and Connors released but not sure we'll see any of the others. Assume that McFadden, Rob and Tomane were just rested for the Ospreys match so expect to see them in contention for selection too.

Would also be a relief if the wind and rain abated for a few days.

Cold and raining is the forecast, but not too windy. I would expect the four you mentioned above to be released. I would expect Harry Byrne to start.

Conor O'Brien picked up a hamstring injury in the Ospreys match and won't be available this Friday. Rory O'Loughlin has "stepped up his training this week" as he looks to recover from his injury.

I'd be expecting a lot of rotation for the Ireland team against Italy (not just because of the England result, I think it was always going to happen)

I wonder then will Farrell release some of the fringe players back to us. Risk of injury as always. But an 8 day turnaround to the Italy game.

Assuming he does I reckon:

Dooley, Kelleher, Bent
Molony, Fardy
Deegan, Doris, Connors
McGrath, Byrne Jr
Tomane, JOB
Daly, Kearney, A Byrne
Cronin, Milne, Salanoa, Baird, Murphy, HOS, Frawley, Kelleher
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Seeing as how Harry isn't Ross' son, should that not read "Byrne minor". Seem to remember something like that from my childhood days reading Billy Bunter (the fabulous adventures of....)

Would be surprised to see Kelleher and Doris back from the Ireland squad. They should be starting the game against Italy.

Anyone looking to sell a South Stand ticket for this game? I know there are plenty available on Ticketmaster but with the exchange closed I thought I'd try here first.

Dooley, Cronin, Bent, Molony, Fardy, Rhys, Connors, Deegan, McGrath, Harry B, Lowe, Tomane, JOB, DK, RK
Milne, Tracy, Aungier, Baird, Murphy, JGP, Frawley, ROL

Lowe looks like he needs a bit of game time to me.
Would give HB the start considering the respective 10s performances last week.

This type of thing is to be encouraged imho. I would be happy to pass mine on for less than cost if I wasn't attending.

I'm sure many others would too.

Agreed johng. And giving Ticketmaster less business is a bonus [WINKING FACE]

But just to clarify I am happy to pay full price!

Just a thought but as the Italy game has been cancelled, will more players be released back to their provinces now?

A few fringe Ireland players were released back to provinces but not the starters and (for us) not the ones that were pushing for a start e.g. Doris, Kelleher. So not a big impact for us - maybe more impact with other provinces
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

I think JB might've been asking whether more than just the 4/5 released already might be given back to us, given they won't play now for at least three weeks.

So probably Doris and Kelleher would be the two most likely extra bodies.

But given it's late in the week and they're in camp today I can't see it.

yes that is what I was getting at, I know you played on a sunday and it's not such a big issue for you as your so far clear

But other provinces are in a scrap for play off places, I was thinking more of the munster vs scarlets game tbh

Baird & Byrne start!

Another very solid side. Happy to see that 9/10 chosen the other two had mares last week.

Back row looks nicely balanced but will be tested.

Interesting to see Dunne benching too.
