Some of the banter on YouTube is nice and cringey.

missed pen.
Re: Leinster A '20-21'
He does look good, doesn't he?
We're guilty of trying to playing passing and running rugby against them and not really nailing it, so Munster can hoof the ball back down the pitch. Worth persisting with it though as the result is irrelevant.

Re: Leinster A '20-21'
Some of our basics have been really bad, especially passing and fielding. We're not executing 2 on 1s well at all, lots of ball in one hand or not facing down the pitch. Loads of loopy passes from the halfbacks as well although Munster have done the same so maybe it's windy?
Re: Leinster A '20-21'
Exactly. Munster are mainly kicking though, so it's not affecting them as much.LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑December 18th, 2020, 6:34 pm Some of our basics have been really bad, especially passing and fielding. Re: Leinster A '20-21'
That was very sloppy from the backs, looked like a lot of guys who were used to running over/around people and the fundamentals were missing when they had to play as a team.
Hawkshaw is JJ 2.0 IMO. He's a 12 playing at ten, have thought so since I saw him play for Belvo and nothing I've seen since then chances my mind. When he's looking to have a cut himself he eats up the ground outside him, and when he's not looking to break he sits deeper, plants his feet, and plays really predictable passes quite far back which the allows the defence to rush up and smother. IMO he needs a ten inside him that he can take the lead from and needs more time to make decisions and more space to use his skills.
I thought Jack Dunne was immense. For the first team he's regularly just been a cog in the wheel but thought he was a real talisman today and with that size and that work rate the sky's the limit.

Re: Leinster A '20-21'
Tackling by both teams was onee of the stand-out features as was the size of many of the forwards. Agree about Hawkshaw, doesn't look like a 10 at that leveel and getting ball under pressure. But very few of either scrum-half passes was of decent quality. Loopy, high, at or behind and relatively slow - very hard to work with those.
Very little sense of teeamwork and the Summit Meeetings before line-outs are a pain to warch. Line-outs becoming as slow as scrums. Leinster maul attack good but maul defence pretty average.
Desrved win for Munster.

Re: Leinster A '20-21'
Yep, deserved win for Munster. They basically tackled their way to the win, ironically they never looked very dangerous in attack despite the 30 odd points scored, although I missed the start of the game. Very loose passing from Leinster, a huge number going behind the receiver. If passing had been slicker they probably would have won handily, but that's a big IF.Ruckedtobits wrote: ↑December 18th, 2020, 7:04 pm Tackling by both teams was onee of the stand-out features as was the size of many of the forwards. Really!, someone needs to tell them it's Ulster A these days. Last time I heard them called the Ravens was at least 5 years ago.mildlyinterested wrote: ↑January 12th, 2021, 3:33 pmjust copy and pasted what leinster posted.neill_m wrote: ↑January 12th, 2021, 3:28 pmThe Ravens name was ditched a while back.
