True. I think it was something to do with avoiding clashes with all the Internationals.

Yep, definitely only due to the special circumstances of the lockdown, nothing to do with developing a pattern of viewing bands to create tiered television subscriptions

Monday night is good for TV. With no fans
, it's easy. And inventive.

It's not inventive, first thing ABC did when they got the rights for the NFL and first thing Sky did when they invented football was move games to Monday night

Can't imagine the people with the concessions in the RDS will be too happy, as they'll probably sell way less beer on a Monday as opposed to a Friday or Saturday night.....

At least there'll be no mewling brats there. No way Mater and Pater would allow Tarquin and Jocasta stay up that late on a school night

You think we might be back in the RDS before the new year? That would be great! Possibly bars wouldn't allowed to open anyway, who knows?

No fixtures with the SA sides. So are they going to be shoehorned into the second half of the season or are we back to a Pro12 for 20/21?

These games are during the 8 nations in November. No way anyone is getting in to see them I reckon. And if they are it will be an experimental 200 or so.

Not enough to trouble the concessionaires either way

Depends on who gets to go. If Pilotman gets a ticket then that’s actually 800 people.

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

General Council of SARU meets on Tuesday, decision will be taken (or rubberstamped as it appears to be a done deal at this stage) then.

South African rugby chiefs are set to meet on Tuesday to pick the four franchises that could join an expanded PRO16 tournament in 2021.

And they will do so against a backdrop of threatened legal action if the vote determines that the Cheetahs should lose their status in the competition, with the Bloemfontein-based outfit said to have hired a high-profile advocate to argue their case.

Reports have suggested the four current South African Super Rugby franchises — Stormers, Vodacom Bulls, Sharks and Lions — are likely to be backed, with Cheetahs and Kings missing out.

The pair have featured in the PRO14 since 2017 after being casualties of a Super Rugby cut to 15 teams.

Kings recently went into voluntary liquidation amid a deficit of £2.5 million and all rugby activity suspended for 2020, casting further doubt on the province’s future in the PRO14.

But the Cheetahs are determined to retain both their place and franchise status and seem up for any fight ahead.

Last week, a number of disgruntled former players wrote a letter to SA Rugby demanding that the Cheetahs remain part of the PRO14 picture, while, according to Netwerk 24, the Free State team have also sounded out advocate Wim Tengrove to help them in a potential battle with the governing body.

Should Tuesday’s vote go against them, the report suggested they could be prepared to see SA Rugby in court if that’s what the situation demands.

They should find a name for the league and stick with it. Pro12, pro14 now pro16. Its very confusing for those who only tune in occasionally.

It would be nice to keep it within Europe but at least these 4 SA teams will add to the prestige of it and be very competitive. Theyre gone from super rugby so unlike previously I think their media will promote it fully. In fairness they do cover it. Walesonline didn't see fit to give the final its own article the other week.
