Germans. . .No real retail presence here though . . . would of only moved their head office function here for the tax breaks.tones wrote:Where are Depfa Bank from? They are going on a massive surge at the moment, highest profits of any bank based in Ireland last year. Know they are going on a massive recruiting drive.
In saying that BOSI didnt have a real retail side here either. . .my money would be (if it is indeed a Bank). . .Fortis - a perfect springboard for launching their retail banking venture with An Post.

I thought when BOSI came to Ireland they bought ACC, and so inherited the Leinster Sponsorship.sheepshagger wrote:Bit of a backtrack. . . .ACC Bank used to years ago (ACC is now owned by Rabobank)BarryP wrote:Rabobank eh? that'll be sure to generate some interest....Colm wrote: Has to be Rabbobank then really doesn't it

Blurb from their site. . . In March 2002 Rabobank Nederland acquired ACCBank plc in Ireland. The transaction was originated, sponsored and managed by Rabobank Ireland PLC.
ACCBank is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rabobank Group and continues to trade as ACCBank.

Small piece in this mornings Irish Times on this (in the Business section). . .apparantly after BOSI had announced they were pulling the pin one of their Marketing people said ' BOSI has grown into a truly national banking brand and we now need a major sponsorship to support that'
Clearly we are not 'major' enough
Fock them then.

Well Toyota's only really sell in Limerick anyway! Only messing. It was a bit of a snub to make a comment like that. Basically they are limiting what they can now sponsor in Ireland.
