Leinster squad to face Connacht.

Post by Danthefan »

The Leinster squad to face Connacht in Saturday’s Magners League clash at Donnybrook (KO: 5.15pm) has been named.

Malcolm O’Kelly returns to the squad after suffering an injury in the Heineken Cup clash against Gloucester in January and he is joined by returning internationals Shane Horgan, Gordon D’Arcy, Denis Hickie, Girvan Dempsey and Trevor Hogan.

Jonathan Sexton, Luke Fitzgerald, Bernard Jackman, Keith Gleeson and Jamie Heaslip – who were all try-scorers in Leinster’s 40-21 victory over Treviso last week - are also included.

A limited number of tickets for Saturday’s game, which is expected to be a sell out, are available online at http://www.leinsterrugby.ie and from Spar (Donnybrook) and the Leinster Rugby Store (Donnybrook).

The team will be named on Friday lunchtime.

Should win it handy enough with a full team. Good to see Mal in the squad too.

Well it could take a while for the team to bed back in together.

Hopefully Mal is fit enough to start with Hogan in the second row. Usual Keogh/Glees/Jamie backrow. Jackman and Green in the front row with probably Stan Wright at loosehead. Is Ronnie injured again? :?

I'd like Easterby to start at scrum-half but he'll probably go with Whitaker  . Rest of the backline picks itself apart from the 13 jersey. I really hope he leaves Shaggy on the wing. He's some much more effective there and Darce is too important at inside centre to be moved to the outside channel. So I hope it's Lewie in the 13 as a straight swap.

I'll be very very interested in how the ref perrforms.

Since the McDowell/Blayney incident last October the (Irish) referees for the Munster v Leinster & Leinster v Ulster games seemed to penalise us an awful lot.............

Well that guy wasn't shy about showing cards to Ronnie and Mal.
And McHugh practically had to commit GBH before he was carded.

As the memorys of the post-match rows are coming flooding back......
