If Elsom did come it would be a relatively short term deal. Before Leinster came up as a possible destination I read an articles on PR say he wants to play in Europe but he also will go back to play for Aus in the next RWC, so you'd think he'd need to be there for the season before that. I'd say if he did come it would be for 2 years only, and if O'Brien is that good he'll get a shot anyway if Heaslip and possibly Jennings are on international duty.

That's the ideal scenario: something like 6. Elsom, 7. Jennings, 8. Heaslip, 19. Keogh when we have our full complement and 6. Keogh, 7. Elsom, 8. McLaughlin, 19. O'Brien when the internationals are away. It's crucial, however, that Jowitt doesn't get in the way of such a plan or O'Brien/McLaughlin/both could lose out.

Joins Neil Best there then - what a potentially awesome backrow.
