DRyan too. Would like to see Foley start against Georgia, at least. Mick MC is living off one performance against the Boks, at this stage.

So far we're missing....
Healy
Moore
Henderson
Touhy
SOB
BOD (just including him because he was an ever present aside from the summer tour, another body needed)
Ferg
Earls

Hard to know if DK will be ready to be considered. Same with Luke although I'm guessing Joe would be extremely reluctant to bring him in. Trimble also a doubt now. I believe he's dislocated a toe, no idea what the recovery is for that.
Jordi Murphy too
Internet seems to say to 2 to 6 weeks

Trimble would be a loss, could live with Zebo and Bowe on wings but this Bowe on the left wing ie out of position has me baffled and I dont think it suits him, with Kiss there at Ulster youd assume it was on Joes orders

So with all the current injuries (and that's even before we've played two rounds of Europe) we could be looking at

R Kearney
Bowe
Henshaw/Payne
D'Arcy
Zebo
Sexton
Murray

McGrath
Best
Ross
Toner
O'Connell
POM
Henry
Heaslip

Still the guts of the team that won the Six Nations

I'd be tempted to switch POM to 7 and bring in Ruddock. I'd then have a bench of Cronin, Kilcoyne/Cronin, White/Furlong/Archer??, McCarthy, Henderson, Marmion, Madigan, Olding/Payne

Not sure he's back just yet.. I think the original recovery time was to have him back a week or two before the AIs

Bar 13 the first XV is set in stone

bench

Sean Cronin
Killer v Cronin, most likely Killer as he starts most for Munster and is doing a great job as Patrick in Love/Hate
Nathan White
Mick Kearney or Dave Foley, probably latter
Ruddock
Reddan
Madigan v Jackson, probably Madigan based on history
Henshaw/Payne v Olding v Gilroy, I would say Gilroy as otherwise no viable wing cover

Damn shame, especially when he'd really established himself for Ireland. Hopefully Gilroy will benefit from the extra game-time though and put himself back into contention for the green jersey too.

Slightly worried about wing now. A year ago we seemed to have a ludicrous number of options and that was even before Trimble had played under Joe and he was well down the pecking order. DK, Luke, and Earls haven't played yet this season. Ferg out for another month and wasn't playing well anyway. Trimble looked to be hitting top form again but looks like being out. Bowe in very average form and Gilroy worse again and has been for a while.

Fingers crossed Bowe and Gilroy kick on from the last game. Thought they were two brilliant tries. Bowe didn't get the credit he deserved for reading the pass from Murray. Think he knew Murray was going to pass it before Murray knew it himself.

When I say worried, it's not a huge deal. Not like we're struggling for numbers and I'd be excited to see what Zebo could do. It's just that during the 6N it looked like we might be able to have incredible competition for places and that it could be a real strength of the team, hasn't worked out like that.

at least if Zebo plays Bowe has to revert to right wing which may help

Copeland's best chance of a cap is if Heaslip gets ebola, but that says more about Stander

How many games has Stander started at 8? Last season it was POM pushing Heaslip on the back of a few starts at 8, then it was Copeland on the back of looking like a good player in a poor side(plus he signed for Munster) now its Stander(even though he's not eligible) on the back of some good games at 6 and now 8. It'll be Paddy Butler come the 6N
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014
Ruddock(c) 19/2 Tackles
