We may need an 8 who can cope well with a retreating scrum, none better than Heaslip, although I'd prefer if he got a break.

I'll take it from you that Jordi's arse is white. And please, do not submit any evidence.
It is in a pair of Ireland shorts....

Just an expression. don't take it to literally. Most of us Caucasians have white arses.

Just like Caucasians arses - not that funny

This thread is going way off course lads - think rugby!

This gives an ideal opportunity for new or fresh caps. Although with the Aussies are on the horizon and with sick bay is so full, it might be wise to let likely combinations get more experience together

Surely as we're discussing a match against a Caucasus Country it's the most suitable time to mention Caucasian arses.

Eh, Georgia is in the Caucasus, so- ..... never mind

Change the forwards wholesale; leave the backs intact- largely. I'd rest Payne and bring D'Arcy back to 12, switching Henshaw to 13. Reason? Payne's sore foot needs a week; D'Arcy's enduring class; Henshaw's best position.

Yeah and Ireland are playing - but Jordi Murphy "white arse" has nothing to do with this game either!

Remember think Rugby not arses - unless thats your thing, then by all means work away

5 Myths about Georgian rugby(you can expect George Hook to talk about on Sunday)

http://tier2rugby.blogspot.nl/2014/01/4-myths-about-georgian-rugby.html

Interesting points are that the scrum isn't all that powerful despite having so many props in the T14. Mind they probably don't train much together. They tend to keep ball in hand and aren't inclined to kick. Author argues they aren't as far off Italy as some think. IIRC the last time we sent a team to face them it was an uncapped B team. how did it go?

"So with the tight turnaround from Georgia to Australia there’ll be a few changes but there’ll be some continuity as well.”

Anyone trying to guess Joe's team for Georgia should take this quote into account.

The whole team should be wrapped up and mollycoddled until the game against Australia. Give them whatever they want and look after them. Then play the Mulingar 15; or the Dundrum 15; or the Ballyfermot 15; or indeed the Mayo hurling team against Georgia, None of the key players should be risked and that is nigh on all of them. An injury to Sexton, Murray, Ross, POC or Henson would be one hell of a blow.

Surely if Copeland has been called up he'll get a game on Sunday. He's nowhere near the level of Heaslip but his physicality and yard making could be what is needed.

While I agree with you that an injury to Henson would be a blow I reckon it would be more of a blow to Bath and to Henson himself than it would be to Ireland

And yes I did know it was a typo and that borders meant Henshaw

Vast majority of this weekend's team will not have played last weekend and won't play against Australia either

It's also the most obvious position on the team-sheet where we don't have sufficient depth behind Heaslip. At No6, there's O'Mahony, Ruddock and possibly Henderson [though he is more likely to feature in the row in the future]; at No7 there's O'Brien, Henry, Murphy and O'Donnell; and at No8 there's Heaslip and then a long way behind there's Jordi Murphy, who's currently injured.

No8 at test level is a big man's game – think of the size of Vermeulen, Vulipola, Parisse, Picamoles, and Read – and at 196cm and 112kg Copeland has a really significant size advantage over Jordi Murphy [188cm and 106kg]

It's a selection that is crying out to be made, if you ask me. Copeland was Player of the Tournament for Emerging Ireland in Rumania this summer, and in my opinion it's important to try and reward that form. He hasn't had as much a crack this season thus far with Munster due to the presence of Stander, but this is the sort of fixture where one would hope that a guy of his limited international experience but real potential could get a good run-out.
