6 Nations 2015

Post by simonokeeffe »

am going to be bolshy and predict an Irish championship win

who are we missing with injury that matters?
Killer, Henderson, Ryan, Henry, Payne, Trimble?

Sexton, Ruddock, White, SOB, Healy may have to be eased into it but should be around for most of the championship

For Italy my guess

R Kearney, T Bo, Luke, Henshaw, Zebo, Madigan, Murray, McGrath, Best, Ross, Toner, POC, POM, SOB, Heaslip
Cronin, Healy, Moore, Foley, TOD, Reddan, Keatley, McFadden

Starting SOB cold but easing Healy in from the bench? If either of them are to be included I think it should both be from the bench.

Also The Star were speculating that Bowe could miss the 6 Nations............... what a rag

Also, is TOD the best person to be covering the back row?
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

My guess is Jack McGrath is much more of a trusted deputy for Healy than TOD is for SOB with Henry out
A big what if is when does Ruddock get back to fitness and do we start without a genuine 7?

the wolfhounds game January 30th could well have Healy, McGrath, Moore, Ruddock, SOB all playing

if Bowe is out McFadden probably comes in but we lose a bit there

Bolshy comes from the Bolshevik rise to power.
Thought it meant working class acting above their station?

I knew it came from Bolshevic but I've always taken it as being grumpy or narky when making a point. As in 'don't mind the kids they're just being bolshy'.

What distinguished the Bolsheviks from other Marxist revolutionaries was that they believed that the working class were too docile and needed a group of bolshie people to start the revolution without them. So essentially they were the equivalent of the 1916 people in Ireland except with an economic ideology.

The guys in Paris yesterday (who seem to have noticed that French muslims don't really care all that much about either hardcore religion or foreign politics: how many foreign fighters in Afghanistan or Syria or Iraq turned out to be French?) are most likely heirs to bolshevism seeking to ignite a race war by provoking a violent racially targeted backlash from the French state thus radicalising the local beurs.

So bolshie is really incendiary.

http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictio ... sh/bolshie

A couple of definitions here 433 appears to be correct but I also appear to be at least partially right. Either way my kids can definitely be bolshie and ballsy is a totally different thing. As in with the lovely Mrs Offshorerules "it was a ballsy decision to marry me" meaning it took balls. Which now that I think about it is worrying.

The Bolsheviki (or majority) were a minority faction in the Russian Social Democrats, far outnumbered by the majority Mensheviki (or minority) faction.

Think of him as the tzar. Either way he looks good but ultimately he's useless.

Speaking of which, I hope the IRFU make a contribution to the 1916 centenary celebrations to commemorate the men and women who fought the good fight, heroes all. A commemorative jersey maybe.

It's okay though, we won the civil war.
