Heard the interview, Corcoran was virtually creaming himself, asked the questions he was told to & Penny gave the Munster standard press replies about tradition, work ethic, passion blah, blah.

He'll also give youngsters a chance (not that he has much choice, but good all the same) and he'll attempt to get Munster to play a 15 man game.

Actually felt sorry for him what else was he going to say? Best of luck to him, a strong Munster (and Connacht) is important for the continued success of Leinster (and Ulster).

I'm amazed at the hype that little comment about Brad Thorn is getting on MF. Although, morale was pretty low after the shambolic performance at Liberty Stadium, any form of "fighting talk" is going to gain an awful lot of kudos from the Munster masses.

Talks a good game though and seems like a good appointment from Munster. We'll have to see how the talk transpires on the field though.
The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

Corcoran is seriously blinkered about all things Munster. Did anyone hear him going at the 2fm radio presenter after the 60 - 0 drubbing to NZ? Wasn't just unprofessional, but if I was her I would have tore him a new one off air. She asked the legitimate question (that majority of rugby followrs in the country are asking) regarding Deccie's tenure ending.

@ Dexter,

Started shouting her down, getting excited (too excited) and didn't treat it like he treated all other questions. She responded by saying that she was just asking a question based on the majority of texts/tweets the show was receiving - but reading between the lines she was saying cop on and maintain professionalism. It was similar to Dunphy's outburst to Miriam O'Callaghan on Prime Time when asked about the end of Jack Charlton.
MC was obviously very emotional about it and let it get the better of him.

Rob penny looks the part.
He's nearly as ugly as cullen.
Cullen didn't do too bad with leinster.
He makes Victor costello look good.

He talks the talk, but that's the easy part.

Perhaps McGahan ended up as a bit of a fall guy for greater problems. The proof will be in the pudding.

On the Brad Thorn comment, I wonder if he knows where Botha, Du Preez, Ronan, Keatley, Downey, Lualala, Howlett, Jones et al in his starting line up came from! :D It's pretty standard in Irish rugby at this stage. But no harm in revving up the trash talk nice and early.

Could be bothered to listen to the interview, what did Penney say exactly regarding Brad Thorn

Almost nothing! Although not a precise quote, it went as follows

Corcoran: The irish rugby is run is different than elsewhere in that you have to work with the IRFU who who don't give you the freedom to go out and just sign a world class player if you need one
Penny: Tell that to Brad Thorn (chuckles)

And thats it.

Very achievable pool this year for Munster. Interesting to see how much of a fight Racing will put up.

Having Racing first up will be harder that having them in January when they have given up. They are very unpredictable but on a good day they are a very good team.

Funny Group. No stand out winners or losers in there. Sarries probably just favourites, but any of the 4 could conceivably top the group.

Sarries back to back games should be hard fought.

The best I could do is say Sarries/Munster likely to top the group, and Embra/Racing likely to come 4th.

If Munster are as good as they rate themselves, and have as many current (and potentially future) internationals as they say the should, this group is very achievable. By the time they play Embra in the 5th match and Racing in the last they could be gone either.
