Yes. We went into the season having released Crosbie too. We had Sexton and Marsh as senior squad, Carbery and Byrne in the academy. All except Byrne were injured and he started in the HC against Northamption.
We also had difficulties at out half after Carbery left. Noel Reid was our sub outhalf and we almost needed Frawley. Frawley played 3 HC games this season and has played 11 games in each of this season and last.
When Sexton left we signed Gopperth. Very good player, played loads of rugby, great signing. But it wasn't a great time for Leinster's development.

Bad news on the injury front as RG Snyman sustained an ACL tear during #LEIvMUN & will meet with a specialist next to discuss surgery and management.
Dave Kilcoyne and Jean Kleyn have also been ruled out for the immediate future with both players requiring rehabilitation periods for respective ankle and neck ligament injuries.

Yikes.
Now that is bad luck.
Kilcoyne, Snyman, Kleyyn out for the semi is a big loss to Munster's pack.
A starting 8 of
Cronin/Loughman, Scannell, Ryan, Beirne, Holland, POM, JOD, CJ
is nowhere near the same.
Cronin also carrying a groin strain which could further deplete the options.
They're also in a tricky scenario now for the weekend.
How full a team do you play considering you need the win but the semi is looking likely to be 5 days later?

I know we're rivals an all that but that is a real sickener for the lad. Hope he recovers asap.mildlyinterested wrote: ↑August 25th, 2020, 9:21 am Bad news on the injury front as RG Snyman sustained an ACL tear during #LEIvMUN & will meet with a specialist next to discuss surgery and management.

You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

Two medical jokers - one at No10 as well.
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Losing Joey, Killer and Snyman is huge.
Munster do not have too many players at that level, so it is difficult to see Munster being massively competitive over the next few months.
This is just made worse by losing Kleyn.
Hopefully Wycherley can step up to the mark, and Beirne can get back to his best.

Talk about zero luck.
With rg Jean and killer out our pack is going to be seriously powderpuff. Time for fineen to get loads of minutes perhaps we might see Coombes in the row too. Ahern will get minutes now too.
But the brains trust will probably decide on some lump from stellenbosch On a rolling 3 month contract is a good long term decision

Is Beirne fit? Hope so. Munster need to not lose this week. Or lose by less than 7 and score 4 tries. Then back it up again 5 days later.
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Afaik Beirne started back training last week, not sure how he is progressing, or if he is even match ready.
Munster will be seriously underpowered in the scrum with RG and Kleyn our.
Really feels like this season may well be over already.
Connacht would be difficult to beat with all players available.

Sure they can't take Synam back to the shop and swap him for another?
Anyone But New Zealand
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Tough break for the lad, very unfortunate.
Hopefully a plan can be worked out for him so that he can do quite a lot of his rehab at home in South Africa. He doesn't know many people in Ireland and with everything on hiatus here due to Covid-19, winter is going to be super-sh*t. Much better for the noggin to be at home for a South African summer rather than on your own in an Irish winter.

Yerra after Coetzee botched his Acl rehab in saffer land There’s zero chance Of that happening. That rehab will be Micromanaged.hugonaut wrote: ↑August 25th, 2020, 2:40 pmTough break for the lad, very unfortunate.

Very tough on rg tbh
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Good point. Maybe get his rehab underway here for a month or two, establish the rehabilitation programme for him going forward and then allow him to make a call about where he does it.Sugary tae wrote: ↑August 25th, 2020, 4:03 pm Yerra after Coetzee botched his Acl rehab in saffer land There’s zero chance Of that happening. I'm just reminded of the problems that Kane Douglas and Stephen Sykes had with the winters here – they struggled a lot psychologically with the lack of sunlight and heat. Snyman won't have games to focus on, the weather is already super-sh*t, he doesn't know many people, nobody can do much these days with Covid-19 guidelines, and I've no doubt that he will feel that he has let people down [which he hasn't, but there's nothing he can do about it]. It's a tough station for him.
He went to the same school as van Graan did, so I'd imagine they have a very good relationship. Van Graan's dad was CEO of the Blue Bulls, Snyman is a a former Bulls player and current Springbok, Rassie is a former Munster coach – I'd say he'd be very well taken care of if he went to rehab there for 3-4 months and miss the worst of the winter.
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Snyman managed a few years in Japan. I wouldn’t have him as the homesick type.
Tough on him and Munster. Semi final is the least of their problems. There’s a full season to think about.

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Well, he was playing then, not long-term injured. He could go and do things, because Covid-19 wasn't a factor. I'm really just putting myself in his boots. I'd love a bit of f*cking sunshine!
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
I love your abillity to think through consequences Hugo.
Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Given the opportunity again I'd swap an Irish winter for Pretoria.
Training at altitude too and plenty of braai meat.
