It’s the European cup jersey, and they’ve won it twice, hence the 2 stars.

I like the positioning of the stars on the crest. Better than the usual positioning over the crest.

All old empires are evil. Evil is par for the course creating and keeping one.
Well the red comes from the days when they played rugby with the British army in Limerick. The Redcoats gave them old uniforms to make into jerseys. I'd say the map of England is a nod to those days.

According to the sales pitch that accompanied today’s launch, the kit “takes its inspiration from the Red Army around the world, which is represented in the heatmap print on the new jersey.”

Good to see.
1/3 of the starting 15 changed and nearly half the bench.
Smart thinking alright.

Bit of a risky move from Munster to go full bore at this I'd say?

5 day turnaround to the semi with Leinster having a week off.

There's the potential for both tiredness and more injuries.

Or it could be a masterstroke from JVG...

To be fair they don’t have the champions cup to worry about so It’s understandable that they’d throw everything into these few weeks.

I actually think there’s some positive changes there but that’s with the caveat that Murray, Stander, POM, and JJ are all taken off quite early.

Munster have everything to lose with this game.
It is essentially a knock out match, lose and they are out.

Leinster have the luxury of not needing to win this week.
Do you really think any team would enter a must win game with a weak team?
There are already 8 changes from last weeks squad, that is more than enough.

You would have to imagine that if the game is secured early on, then we will see the bench emptied.
No guarantee, that Munster will be in that position.
I fully expect Connacht to put it up to Munster for the first 60 mins, and after that anything is possible.

it would be highly amusing if Munster failed to make the semi finals after all the hype.

That is true, but that doesn’t change the fact that the team is already weakened, and bar the return of a first choice player, any more tinkering would likely weaken Munster further.

No, clearly I don't, which is why I didn't say anything remotely like that

The point is, Munster have chosen to go hell for leather against a team they knew were making 15 changes.

Most of the changes are either injury enforced or bringing in a guy who's probably first choice.

They're expecting the whole backline plus POM/Stander/Scannell to start 3 games in 13 days.

Again, this could be a masterstroke, or it could be a big problem if they pick up injuries and have to turn around in 5 days.
