Five points and three triesenby wrote:Well that has been a great inter-pro series over Christmas. One point and two tries. Back play you wouldn't see in the Winters Cup.
Murray, Earls and POM marked absent tonight. Joey miles off the pace.
I stand corrected. Forgot about Connacht winDave Cahill wrote:Five points and three triesenby wrote:Well that has been a great inter-pro series over Christmas. One point and two tries. Back play you wouldn't see in the Winters Cup.

Thought he started well and kicked well but agree apart from that. I do think he's a good ten but I really really hope that he doesn't make the Ireland 23 until he plays well consistently for Munster. I said recently that Ross Byrne should be penciled in for the 23 until Joey manages that and tonight confirmed it for me. It's a long long time since he played well consistently at ten, is it actually as far back as his breakthrough for Leinster??wixfjord wrote:If Ross Byrne turned in the performance that Joey did tonight we'd (rightly) crucify him. When his forwards aren't going forward he can really lose all shape in a backline.
He was lined up wrong and a lot stemmed from that. I’m not sure how much is coaching but I think a lot is him.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:Thought he started well and kicked well but agree apart from that. If he's regretting not taking advice then it be that of Plumber.Xanthippe wrote:I wonder if Saint Joey is regretting not taking Joe’s advice - imagine him and Cooney together
In mitigation, it's his first start of the season and only his second game under the new coaching regime. I agree with you based on this game, but I'd expect him to get better.wixfjord wrote:If Ross Byrne turned in the performance that Joey did tonight we'd (rightly) crucify him.
